Sad to see Ken Murphy maligning Fr. Bilot at Father's new parish. Ken Murphy wrote the same slanderous comments in a review for Divine Child. Here is a response from one of the DC parishioners regarding Ken Murphy's review of Divine Child: Anthony Emerson 1 review 2 years ago- Please disregard the slanderous review made by Ken Murphy. His claims are either malicious lies or the ravings of someone who is mentally unwell. Aside from the fact that his baseless assertions are complete mischaracterizations of Fr. Bilot (we have parishoners and staff at Divine Child who have known him for 20+ years and will attest to that), the specific details of his claims don't even come close to adding up.
There are constantly people coming and going from Divine Child's adoration chapel. If Fr. Bilot were roughing someone up in the chapel (which is so preposterous it makes me laugh to even have to type it), somebody else would have seen it.
The priests are seldom ever in the chapel for any reason, as a parishoner is responsible for upkeep of the chapel, not the priests. When the priests go to adoration at the chapel, they sit on the other side of the sacristy door without actually having to go inside.
Because the chapel is unlocked 24 hours a day, there are metal bars which seperate the seating (nave) from the tabernacle and altar (sanctuary). The sacristy door is on the sanctuary side, so if the priests are ever in the chapel, they're most likely to be in the sanctuary and not the nave.
To summarize: If Fr. Bilot and Ken Murphy were in the chapel at the same time, they would most likely be seperated by bars with at least two or three other people in their presence. Given all of this information, you can now see just how ridiculous Ken's claim is.
Fr. Bilot is an outstanding priest and man of God. He's so devoted, passionate, and level headed. Not the type to ever lose his temper. In fact, even when I brought it to his attention that someone was bearing false witness against him online, Fr. Bilot was completely calm and unaffected by it, assuring me that he doesn't pay attention to Google reviews. He seemed more concerned about the state of Ken's mental health than by Ken smearing his character. That's the quality of a holy man. I only hope and pray that I can someday reach Fr. Bilot's level of charity and kindness. What a sad irony that someone would have it out for one of the best priests you'll ever meet. Please do not be mislead. Fr. Jim Bilot is an awesome priest and Divine Child is an awesome parish! I mean that in the most literal terms; Divine Child...

First off, I asked to visit, and they responded promptly and arranged a tour. They communicated clearly when the schedule had to change and were easy to work with.
When we arrived at the church, the tady showing us around showed the church had its priorities set. A lot of churches these days, unfortunately think that their mission is to pack as many people into the pews, or to make as much money as possible to not go into debt, or even to make worship about their glorification. Saint Paul's rather, the lady explained, made its priority in making Jesus known, loved, and served. She told of Eucharistic processions, devotions, many many Mass times, and other devotions to lead people to God. Not, as many churches mistakenly do, leading God to people. (Thereby making people the priority, and God left behind to be mentioned casually, and never seriously)
Lastly, the church is gorgeous. Simple at times, but by no means plain. Simple wainscoting, simple windows. Then, in the organ, stained glass in the transepts, and especially the marble altars, the craftsmanship runs wild....

Is there no drive up service like I'm use to? Very strange! Maybe it's only for parishioners and mind readers only. I'm from out of state and where I volunteer the car line would be wrapped around the building right now. I hope they can make money. Oh yeah, no signs with the...
