Very disappointing. We had had dinner here a few times 18 or so months ago and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Went for a very early dinner since we were downtown and even though it was early, we should have known as soon as we walked in.
The lights were all the way up, the interior looked tired, especially the tables. Felt completely different than our older visits.
The waiter did his best, but he was obviously new, and too new to be on his own. Our drinks and appetizers were decent, but we ordered the Filet medium rare.
It came out looking absolutely fantastic, cooked perfectly. It tasted like foam. We took one bite and only took a second because we could not believe the first was that bad.
We told the waiter, and he apologized but brought us our bill with the filet still on it.
Bad meals happen, bad meat happens, the restaurant usually doesn't know how it's going to turn out unless something is obviously wrong with it, but bad meals do happen. We don't care if we get a bad meal if the restaurant steps up and realizes what they sold was bad. I am sure even the best restaurants get a bad piece of meat once in a while.
It is not like we ate the whole thing then complained, we took 2 small bites, and it was awful.
I do not know if the waiter informed anyone, but again this comes down to training and we could tell as soon as we walked in the entire place had changed.
More disappointed in the reaction than in the food.
Things have obviously changed there and there is a reason why a few restaurants always have openings on Open Table on Friday/Saturday nights, and we should have seen that...

Read moreCalled Sunday evening to secure a table for my daughter and I. Was told by hostess that we would be seated right away and that reservations wouldn't be required. Upon our arrival Elise was kind, courteous and polite. Our server Luke was great and offered clean, unobtrusive service. Daughter got the burger w sweet potato fries which she enjoyed greatly. Upon Elises' recommendation I ordered the fish and chips which were incredible. My Rosé wine was good, but the Ardeche Chardonnay was just great. To finish we shared the Key Lime Cheesecake which is a new favorite. Kudos to FOH and Kitchen staff. We will return.
Returned tonight and we were satisfied beyond expectations. Suzanne is a gracious and warm hostess. James the GM suggested an absolutely stunning Aligote from burgundy. Austin our server was dutiful and on POINT. Bryce the wonderful chef made the rounds and spoke to us to make sure all was good, amd indeed it was. His butternut sqash veloute was as close to perfection as one can get. It feels like high time they've hit their stride, and we should all embrace and support their efforts. Kudos to all involved. A hearty thanks to all involved in this effort. May you continue to...
