So I live outstate and decided to treat myself as I'm working in a food desertš and a little after 9:30 I ordered the nacho starter and realized it's gigantic I already ordered although it would've been nice if my waitress mentioned that's a ton of food but that's ok and the nachos were good. I asked what beer was similar to Killian red waitress asked the bartender and he snapped "Nothing" but didnt seem right since he didn't even try so i decided to Google what seemed to me similar and right away Fat Tire ale popped up.. great brew btw. Decided to go a few days later same time 9:30 pm & ordered the exact same nacho starter minus dinner. 1st it was ½ the size of first time... also something wasn't right. As if all nachos weren't cooked at the same time and refried and inedible plastic texture. Others were perfect. Then after eating a little over half I discovered an old overcooked French fry. Inexperienced waitress told me maybe it fell from a plate close to it onto mine.. š Impossible as it was buried underneath. I'm squeamish about stuff like this z getting nauseous. The manager apologized yet offered no service, just stared at me. I hate telling people their job but right is right. Then I hear that maybe it was floating in the grease from another order as if that's ok. This is where you save your rep and comp the customer that's fighting vomiting on your floor. Since she had the unprofessional so what face I volunteer to pay for half. She leaves sends the waitress back with 20% off the bill. I build resturaunts around the country, and decent place would've comped me, offered something else. She did offer to remake the portion but seriously, same chef, same kitchen NO THANK YOU. That's not how you treat a customer LUXE! I went to a decent resturaunt and got treated like I was at a corner Coney. But I guess I look too blue collar who knows. Btw, waiting for my lyft I threw up in the parking lot....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe decided to try a ānew to usā place for a late lunch. The menu was pretty fantastic for a bar and grill. Nice assortment, beef, chicken, fish, and even a veggie burger. Our server was so pleasant and very willing to answer menu questions. She didnāt linger, checked on us periodically, spent the perfect amount of time with us. The atmosphere was pretty nice. Music wasnāt too loud, could see the televisions, I prefer a little more lighting but I feel like it gave off an upscale and retro vibe. The food was substantial and tasted pretty high quality. I had the mahi sandwich and a side of flash fried redskins. It was a fantastic sandwich and those redskins were delish! Guest 2 had a Luxe burger and it was tasty! The Luxe sauce was a garlicky sauce and it really added something special to the burger. A side of fries is enough for several people. The servings didnāt disappoint! Guest 3 had a chicken club with a fry mix (potato and sweet potato). The chicken club was big! Guest 4 had chicken tenders and onion rings. The onion rings were a little too greasy but that happens. The tenders were ok. A little pricey for the size/serving. The appetizers were fantastic! We tried the tenderloin tips (I would order med rare if we go back). They were delish, the horseradish sauce served with them was a perfect accompaniment. We tried the sweet Sriracha shrimp and the chef deconstructed the serving for us and it was fantastic! We could use as much or as little sauce as we liked. Lastly we tried the edamame. They were cooked perfectly.
I would recommend. I feel the service and quality of the food and choices made it well worth trying. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLux Bar and Grill in Grosse Pointe has quickly become one of my favorite neighborhood gems. Their happy hour menu is exceptional, offering a delightful array of choices that cater to all tastes. The Brussels sprouts are a must-try ā perfectly crispy and flavorful. The calamari is another favorite of ours, always cooked to tender perfection.
When it comes to the main course, the Lux burger stands out as my all-time favorite. Itās a classic done right, and on days Iām feeling a bit more indulgent, the barbecue Lux burger adds that extra touch of decadence. As for drinks, their martinis are simply unmatched, making it my go-to beverage every time.
But what truly sets Lux apart is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The comfort of the setting combined with the kindness of the staff ensures every visit is memorable. Itās these qualities that solidify Lux Bar and Grill as a cherished spot in the...
