For anyone looking to move in here or renew their lease here, please look at only the reviews within the past year; these apartments were previously run by a wonderful management team and was transferred to a different person who has only been a headache for the vast majority of tenants. Personally, I have only seen people leave since the ownership switch.
With that said, I am not someone who opts to leave reviews anywhere, and these are the things in a bullet-pointed list to cover just some of the reasons why I have chosen to do so this time: The manager of the apartment complex is rude and consistently breaks lease policies and/or makes changes to the apartments that are specifically targeted to hurt your pockets and cause frustration. For example, the apartment complex went from no paid parking to mostly reserved spots which you have to pay monthly, per car for. If you are like most and get home any time after 5-6PM, there is highly unlikely to be an available spot in relatively close distance to your unit, much less a free space if that is what you are interested. In my experience, the manager told all residents in my unit we would need to purchase a spot or park at another business and walk home. The nearest spot that was available for purchase was around the side of the complex. The maintenance man is negligent. There is an apartment resident's portal on RentCafe where rent payments, documents, and maintenance requests go through. Jerry, the maintenance man, will consistently mark things as complete and never show to give you service. The maintenance man will berate you! The residents within our unit put a maintenance request in for pest control services, which are included in our lease. The maintenance man gave a 10 minute "notice" that he would be coming to provide the services, then showed at our door to immediately start threatening to mark the service as incomplete and not fulfill it, complaining that our dog in our own apartment was "wasting his time" as we were working on getting her in her kennel out of the way and she was "off leash"... again, inside the unit, and told us that we needed the pest control service because us and our apartment are "filthy". The horrendous management and maintenance work together to make your life as difficult as possible. When called about the previous incident to try to understand the "why" behind the maintenance man's frustration (i.e. "Did we do something wrong, and if so, please let us know so we can help you in the future"... despite having been berated at 9AM), the manager hooked the line to the maintenance man as well. On this call, both the maintenance man and the manager ignored us, the tenants, and had a conversation stating "If they want to leave, they can. I am too busy and don't need tenants like this" before hanging up. I tried to call back, leave a message, and send a text message to the manager directly after this requesting a continuation of our conversation to be completely ignored. Maintenance and management urge you to contact them if you have any issues or are in need of any services, then will never respond to you. You will know later that they did see or hear your message as they will answer down the line with "You put in _ request and _ request. You complain too much!" even though the requests are once a week and consistently marked as complete, despite not being completed. If you park in a spot that is marked and not rented by your unit, the manager will not help the tow truck company give approval for the tow... they let other residents do so. Yes, that is right. We found out through the tow truck company that a man, who is not the manager of the apartment complex, was given permission to the tow truck company to tow our car. The apartment complex then told us that our car was NOT towed... until they reviewed the cameras.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any lingering desire to stay here. I still have plenty of stories! :) Happy...
Read moreI lived there for a yr...Feb 2018. First apt was 1bdrm and AC never worked....I was pregnant and we were not allowed to look at apt until we signed lease and move in day... We moved out few months later to a 2 bdrm downstairs...I had my baby boy Sept 5th...a month and half early...fast forward to may 2019.... Our ceiling caved in, in bathroom and BLACK MOLD was everywhere... I contacted the new manager and maintenance but manager never came to access the problem.. the tub upstairs was leaking and had been leaking for a long time..the wood was rotten and crumbled like sand when I touched it.. I asked manager to replace the rotten wood and sheetrock and do it right way... They didn't.. they sprayed bleach and covered it up with sheetrock... I called building inspector of groves and he came out and told manager we could not live there... At 505 pm that day we got a paper stating we had 5 days to move out because our apt was not in safe living conditions..we have paper stating we could legally terminate our lease.. We moved out in less than 24 hours.. been trying to get a place for my family and manager has made it impossi let by stating lies... It's there negligence that led us to move out legally.... I have pictures, videos, voicerecordings, samples and email s... Cambridge is horrible
Kristille.. you offered the apt while u fixed the hole in ceiling... That was before the building inspector came out.. only reason I called him was because you failed to clean up the mold the right way... By professionals who deal with mold..u covered hole up but wood was and probably still is rotten.you didnt replace anything that was molded or rotten... I'm not saying it still is. Just know you didn't care enough about me and my family. After inspector came out he told you we couldn't live there and it was unsafe... U put notice on door at 505 pm telling us we had 5 days to move.. if you would have done the right/ honest thing I wouldn't have made a big issue... But when I emailed you over and over asking you to clean it up right way and explain to you we were all getting sick , you never listened... You did what you thought was ok.....it wasn't till inspector told you guys we shouldn't be living there we got notice..you were going to let me and my family live in a mold infested apt... . That's not right... ...
OMG.. you are silly... I did not go by the office to rent an apt from you. I went by the office to ask for a letter in writing on why you are giving us a bad rental history. If we were so bad at tenants why did you offer us a new apartment. You are...
Read moreI pay almost $1200/month for a 2 br, 2 bath with utilities⌠and that feels like way too much. The complex itself is well-lit, especially at night, which makes me feel completely safe. Itâs quiet during the day, there isnât a lot of drama or nosy neighbors, and I trust the people around me not to steal my packages which is also nice. The pool is cleaned weekly, too, so itâs always in great shape.
The reasons for leaving off two stars: I signed a lease for an updated unit, then the day I move in (aka while Iâm mid-flight from WA to here), an âemergencyâ happens and I have to switch units. They moved me to a unit that wasnât renovated and instead, everything was broken. The âgraniteâ countertop in the kitchen was peeling and is actually just like, wallpaper on top of bare wood. The sink was rusted. The fridge drawers were so cracked they had holes in them. The front window had a large chunk of broken glass missing (which took over a week for them to replace). The closet door in the 2nd bedroom was completely broken off (and still has yet to be repaired six months later). The master bathroomâs water knobs and bath faucet were completely hanging off. There was a severe roach infestation, which I noticed one day after living there and notified management of immediately. On any given night, I would kill 7-10 German cockroaches (yes, the nasty giant ones). It took two months before they were finally gone and management attempted to blame me for it, claiming the previous tenant never mentioned them. I find it extremely unlikely that I caused a severe pest infestation 24 hours after living there, but ok. Also? They shut off the water to the entire complex CONSTANTLY. When there is a leak, the entire complex has to lose water while itâs repaired, which usually takes at least an hour. They cut off the water like four times this past week alone.
Will I break my lease and pay the $2400 termination fee? No. Will I sign another lease? Also no. I donât recommend these apartments, especially for the price point but if options are limited, they are safe and...
