I realize there are different orthopedic surgeons that are skilled working with certain parts of the body. As I write this review it is based solely for Dr. Murawski and not the other surgeons. On March 4, I contacted the Andrew's Institute to sign up as a new patient for Dr. Murawski as he specializes in working with the foot. I live in Bay County and my orthopedic office is being sold and I was am longer able to see the foot specialist orthopedic surgeon here locally. I contacted Andrew's as nine other people in Bay County had recommended them. By the end of March 4, I had my Bay County office forward the surgeon's report from my surgery at the request of Andrew's Institute. I did not hear back from them by March 9, so I called to see if they had received the report. A lady from his office had told me they received it Monday evening, and that Dr. Murawski had been in surgery on Tuesday but my file was on his desk. I called again on Friday, March 11 and was only able to leave a message. On Wednesday, March 16 a lady from his office called and said she knew I had been scheduled to get a CT scan here in Bay County and that the doctor was requesting that scan before scheduling an appointment. I told her I had the disc and report, she said he would rather have it first and that she would contact where I got the CT scan and request the report. On Tuesday, March 22 I still had not heard anything. I called again. I was told I was the top priority on his desk and that he had been on vacation the week before. That he was in surgery on Monday, but I should be getting a call soon. Today is April 1. I still have not been contacted to set up an appointment. I was so angry last Friday, I sought out another clinic. I called Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. By Monday, I had an appointment scheduled and was seen by a surgeon on Wednesday, March 30. My CT scan showed very clearly I have a screw in my joint and I need hardware removed. I have a surgery date for April 12. All of this is far less time than what it has taken for me to attempt to get an appointment with Dr. Murawski. In 3 days it will be a month since I tried getting an appointment. Whatever the reason maybe for not contacting me in a timely manner, please realize you have taken more time from me that I can't get back. Imagine not walking right for months and trying to go through physical therapy along with massage therapy with no positive outcome. Finally getting authorized for a CT scan and trying to get a surgeon's office that was highly recommended to see you because you are tired of being unable. Then finding out you have a clear problem. I do NOT recommend trying to see Dr. Murawski as a NEW patient. Not if your time is precious. He may be an outstanding surgeon, but I'll never know. If I had been told there would be a long wait or that he was not accepting patients at this time, I would not be writing this. However, I feel new patients have the right to know, they too may stay that "top file" for a while with...
Read moreI was less than impressed with my visit to Dr. Kronlage's office. Despite the fact that my appointment was scheduled with Dr. Kronlage, appt reminders had his name and the visit summary was signed off by Dr. Kronlage, I never had the pleasure of meeting him.
I did however meet PA Charles Barnes. Who gave me a lot of non-answers and, in short, told me my best bet was to live with my ganglion cyst and hope it goes away on it's own.
Things Mr. Barnes said during my visit that are driving me to seek a second opinion:
four options for treatment, the last option being smash the cyst with a Bible. (If I had not done my own research prior to my visit I may not have known this was a joke and not to be taken seriously. Poor medical advice.) -During an ultrasound, Mr. Barnes said that the cyst was "larger than he thought" and said where it was located on the such-and-such joint. When I asked where that is, he said its on the joint connecting the _ and the _ but only used medical terms and did not expand when I was clearly asking clarifying questions about my medical issue. I think he said the radiocarpal-scaphoid joint, but I couldn't tell you for sure because he was so dismissive of my questions. He seemed annoyed that I was even asking to begin with. -When I asked questions about surgery recovery and frequency of recurrences, he told me that Pensacola is a transient town and he doesn't know if the issues are resolved. But didn't he study orthopedics? Shouldn't there be data outside of his own personal experiences with patients?? -After telling me surgery is not necessarily an effective option, Mr. Barnes off-handedly said "It could also be cancer but I won't know unless we cut it out and send it off" He didn't expand on that and had already made it seem like surgery was not necessary.
Mr. Barnes seemed in a rush to get me out of the office because he had clearly already decided that my pain is not of concern. He told me at one point that people only get them removed because they don't like the way they look. I don't think he believes I suffer from any pain at all.
To my memory, I don't think he introduced himself when he came in the room. Which is an issue because he is NOT the doctor I was scheduled to meet with. Is this standard practice? To push off your...
Read moreI had the misfortune of being assigned to the care of Dr Roth. I am a triathlete and generally all around athletic, however I am not a sports star which I think was my misfortune when it came to dealing with this place. The initial tech, Tracey, was awesome and promising. She stated that they would get me back to being a triathlete. I filled her in on the discomfort on the other side of my right knee. We talked an discussed and had MRI. When Roth performed the surgery it was as if there had been no communication between him and the tech. He went in and repaired a small tear where I complained and then "scoped" other parts of my knee, especially the interior. Now a 18 months later, after following all aftercare instructions, I still cannot run without significant swelling and pain. I can't put my right sits bone on my heel. I can't do a lot of stuff I used to be able to do prior to surgery. I went in for post surgery appointment and Rorh has the people skills of a mathematician... It was like he didn't even know who I was until he looked at my MRI chart after I got there. After hearing my complaints he simply says that my knee was in bad shape and walks away without telling me we are done.... Seriously.
Overall their system is that you meet with their tech. You don't meet the doctor, only after surgery. All is dependent on how much attention the doctor pays to the tech. I believe if you aren't a sport star you're not important, just a number with money. I assumed that their reputation as major sports doctors would apply to me. I regret the day I made that decision. Now I suffer a lifetime all on the inside of my knee where I've never had an issue. They don't want to talk with me unless I pay more money. I am angry...can you tell? I should have trusted my own body to heal itself. Do yourself a favor and go where the doctors actually meet work you and care about you rather than caring about getting a photo of them with a sportingâ star to hang on the wall. They caused me injury and it isn't possible to go after them in court...lawyers say it's a risk when you agree to surgery. Don't trust these money misers and con artists
Jun/2019 Update
It's been over two years since the surgery and the result is still deplorable. They are liars and thieves.ay they receive their...
