HMB Board Shop — Local services in Half Moon Bay

I was in HMB visiting family and wanted to get a quick surf session in, so I swung by this shop to rent a board. They charge $30 for renting a Wavestorm, a board you can buy from costco for ~$150. When I checked out, I included roof pads for an additional $5, but ended up not needing them since the board fit inside the car. Since I didn't need/use the roof pads, I asked the guy if I could return them and he said "no problem we'll do it when you get back." A couple hours later when I return, the same guy refuses to give me a refund for the board straps that I didn't use, didn't touch, and did not leave the store with. They offered me a $0.25 sticker instead and laughed at me for asking for my money back. Bad experience here with...

Do not… I repeat, do not shop from this store!!! Awful customer service and awful return policy. My son bought fins from this store for his surfboard that were not sized properly by the store attendance. He did not realize they did not fit his board until he left the store. He turned around to go return them, and they would only give him store credit and not his money back. My son drove three hours to get there and is moving to San Diego in a few weeks. he will not be able to use that store credit at any point as he does not live anywhere near this awful customer serviced surf shop. Matt, the manager would not budge on giving the young child his $150 back. Awful service! Poor...

Darren was SUPER friendly and went above and beyond for us. We rented bikes for the whole day for my birthday and it was $30 per person. Great rates and great experience with the most amazing view and bike path. Couldn’t have been happier :) Highly recommend and really appreciated Darren’s customer service and overall friendliness.
