"not enough cashiers" Hallsville DG doesn't make a whole lot of money. Small store = small hours budget. Basically, the store doesn't have enough hours to keep a lot of people on the clock through out the week.
Some of the cashiers are rude; the crappy pay doesn't excuse that. It takes an act of Congress to get someone on the phone or from behind the counter for help. The last time I was there, the milk vendor waited almost 30 minutes for the MOD to get off a break, she was outside smoking and talking on the phone. I don't know if they have changed managers within two months, but they should. The district manager needs to visit this store more often to get it back in shape, starting with basic customer service- greeting people.
This store used to be a decent place to visit, friendly employees, always on top of freight, rotation and planogram changes, now it just looks like a hot mess.
I pointed out an entire box of expired pies to cashier, she said she would take care of it yet thirty minutes later, they were still on the shelf.
I could go on, but I'll end it here. The store is still better than any of Longview's and waskom, but it has seen...
Read moreThis is a 10:star store until the last month or so New sales clerk is absolutely unable to check people out. There is always a line when she is working. Though 8-10:people can be waiting she still stops to make small talk. When a customer walks in the front door she greets them and tells them to ask if she can help them find anything. Well, while that is fine the problem is she forgets what she Is doing with customer she is checking out. I always loved this store. Now I dread walking in and finding out she is there. Store has lost the quickest friendliest and best clerks because no one can work with new clerk. Great manager but I think her hands are tied on this situation. I don’t know but other customers have expressed that opinion. Definitely under qualified...
Read morePulled in at 10:20 PM (not in a parking spot so it was clear I wouldn’t be there long-to let my Man walk over to me from the nearby gas station) and as he was in the process of walking over to me a lady popped her head and told me they could not lock up and leave until I did and so she asked me to leave. They left a few minutes after I did. Thought it was unprofessional as I had only been in the parking lot for approximately thirty seconds (not exaggerating), and he would’ve had time to walk over before they even left. It was clear the lady was ready to go home but a little small bit of patience...
