Run I was a member of the Harrisburg PA Ymca. When I moved to Lawrence in 2013 the Princeton YMCA was under construction. Which worked out for me because I later moved to Bordentown and it was right in the middle. I had my kids and soccer at sawmill I paid extra for the pool at Sawmill my daughter play basketball. Then on Monday of last week I went in with my daughter to use her personal trainer for soccer and there was no room in the basketball court in my son is taking dance lessons there before so I went back to the dance room and check the calendar saw there was no classes proceeded to train at the end someone came in they had a class we moved out of their way right away. Not a problem I came back the next week did the same thing started 20 minutes earlier so I could leave 20 minutes earlier and not bother the next class. The dance instructor shows up 30 minutes early and said she wants to stretch for 30 minutes. Then the most rude lady Donna comes barging into the room and start yelling at us you can't kick a soccer ball in here or anywhere in the building. So we are at Team 85 now. Team85 has a soccer field football field to basketball courts a kid's room because nothing is my son was 9 years old and couldn't go in the kids room and couldn't go in the old game room because now that in the elderly use that couldn't go on the basketball court because they're playing basketball. 9 years old is too young to go in the pool by yourself so all they can do is sit there and play on his tablet. Team 85 their child watch goes up to 13. They have a basketball court in the kids room they have TV types of amenities for kids. It's a little bit more expensive but well worth it. I was sad to go,but it wasn't...
Read moreI love everything about this gym, except for one thing. I write this review only in the interest that maybe something will change. I used to come here in high school and I recently rejoined as an adult. I came back because I remembered how much I liked the facility and how nice and clean the locker room always was. I'm not sure what happened, but the locker rooms have changed. It seems that they made an "adult locker room," which I assume is supposed to be the locker room without children (a great idea, by the way). The only thing is that those new locker rooms are practically the reject locker rooms. I remember the old one being so nice, clean, and comfortable... but they must have given that locker room to the families? And that's completely fine, except I feel like they could stand to bring the "adult locker room" up to par with the way they used to be. Despite an abrasively strong smell, they are relatively clean, but they are generally kind of uninviting. Also, I've only been there two days so far since I rejoined, and both days, I was whacked in the face with the door because there is only one and there is no way to see through or around it, so people coming out and in have no way to know if someone is on the other side. Last, most of the lockers are super skinny, making it really hard to squeeze any sort of bag in there. I understand it is the YMCA and its family-oriented, and I think its great that they split the locker rooms, but it isn't really right to treat your "adult" members to what appears to be a nasty old locker room. I wish they would do something to bring it up to the standard that they hold for the rest of the facility, which...
Read moreTonight my son a I visited Hamilton's YMCA branch hoping we can play some hoops by taking advantage of the free week at YMCA. We were planning to do some more basket ball tomorrow and some pool swimming the next day. For longer time I've been thinking to join YMCA. So we brought our basket balls with us. While I was filling out the application we were informed that we are rejected! To be exact it was my son who was rejected from using this facility!? At the front desk one of the "in charge" ladies told us that my son can't use the facility because he is already signed up for Y Shooters and Swimming Classes and he is in After School Program in Langtree Elementary School. Seriously??? And the free week is only for potential new members.....! I was advised to tell my son that I'm sorry but he can't be here tonight. He was standing there holding those 2 basket balls in hands and trying to understand what just happened....Can you imagine how he felt?? We just turned around and left the facility. My son is 7. He was crying just a little. He will be fine. But I've made my decision finally. There is no way I will be a member of YMCA Hamilton ever. Unfortunately I have no other options for After School Program for my son.
I think that conversation at the front desk in front of my son was totally...
