If you enjoy low quality, tasteless mystery meat this spot is perfect for you. Walked in with my family on a friday night at 9:20pm for the dinner buffet. We were greeted by the manager. Kitchen closes at 10pm so my husband told me to get stuff that I wanted first. I went to this spot mainly for the hibachi grill option and you can imagine my disappointment when at 9:40 pm i saw that the staff was cleaning up. I asked if the hibachi was available and the guy who grills said they are closed for the night. I tried eating the regular items, but what ever was left at 9:40 (a lot of the regular dinner items were finished and they didn’t have the courtesy to refill it) the food quality was disgusting, bland and cold. Shrimp was hard and over cooked. Labels were vague. This can be an issue for people who don’t eat certain types of meat like pork or have allergies.
BUT… when we got our higher than usual bill I was upset. I told the manager ( her name is Serena) that the hibachi section closed before 10pm and we came from far just for that. She smirked and said “yea sometimes we close the grill before 10 “ and to which i replied she should have let us know that as soon as we walked in so that we can decide if we still want to dine in. But I guess that’s how they want to scam their customers. Also to The restaurant owner if you are reading this, please don’t falsely advertise the closing time and have the audacity to charge full price. If you guys charge more for dinner than lunch, it’s because dinner is meant to have more options. Serena the manager was rude and unapologetic. When I was leaving, their was another hispanic family ( 2 adults and 2 kids) and they barely spoke english. Apparently they were charged for 4 adults and the mother who was sad kept showing me her bill with hopes i could somehow help her as well. Looks like they we’re getting taken advantage of as well since they barely spoke any English… i will never go there and if you are reading this, you will more likely have a better meal...
Read moreBuffets. The modern marvel of industrialization. With a vast quantity of food, one can always reach or even exceed their stomach capacity at such an establishment. However, a problem with many buffets is that while the quantity of the food is unlimited, the quality is the aspect of the food that often is neglected. Sadly, this was the case at this establishment as well. I was recently here for my birthday dinner with a party of around 16. The reservation process was quick and simple, and we got an entire room to ourselves without any extra cost. Inside, the floors are a bit sticky, possibly due to a lack of cleaning, and the bathrooms were poorly maintained, with many of the toilets not being flushed and a mysterious odor emanating throughout the entire bathroom vestibule. However, the food was satisfactory quality, and while many options such as the veggies and chicken wings were absolutely horrible, there were decently cost-efficient items that made up for those mishaps. The veggie stir fry was stinky and a bit repugnant, and the wings were absolutely botched and flavorless. However the clams were very well cooked and juicy and delectable, and while I did not try it myself, many of my friends gave the hibachi plentiful acclaim. Overall, this is a wonderful place to eat at, and although the overall quality of many of the food items was not good, there were a few parts that stood out and made up for it. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this establishment for a small party dining experience, rather, I believe it to be more catered towards larger parties, which will provide you with the best experience. Will probably only revisit if I host another large party, as it can ensure that most of the guests needs are met to a reasonable...
Read moreCrab Du Jour Buffet offers a large selection of food at budget-friendly prices, making it a decent option for those looking to eat plenty without spending too much. With a wide range of seafood, fried items, Asian-inspired dishes, and classic American sides, there’s no shortage of choices. If you enjoy variety and want to try a bit of everything, this buffet delivers on that front. That being said, the experience overall is a mixed bag. One of the main concerns is cleanliness. Some areas, especially around the buffet stations and drink dispensers, could be maintained more carefully. While the dining space is functional, it doesn’t feel particularly clean or well-organized, which can take away from the enjoyment of the meal. As for the food, some dishes are flavorful and satisfying — especially the boiled seafood and fried shrimp — while others can be overcooked, bland, or sitting out too long. The freshness of items seems to vary throughout the day, so timing might affect your experience. The dessert section is average, but it does include some fun treats like soft-serve ice cream and mini cakes. Service is minimal, as expected in a buffet, but staff are usually available to clear plates and assist when needed. In short, Crab Du Jour Buffet is not a gourmet destination, but it works if you’re in the mood for lots of food at a reasonable price. It’s the kind of place you visit more for the value and selection than for the atmosphere or cleanliness. With a bit more attention to upkeep and freshness, this spot could become a much...
