I shipped a couple of documents 2 day priority mail thinking 2 day priority mail meant it would arrive in 2 days. The receipt says the delivery date would be 2 days after I shipped it. I paid extra for 2 day over the standard mail which would have arrived in about 3 days based on past experiences. The documents did not arrive in 2 days, it was 3 days late, meaning it arrived 5 days after being shipped. When it arrived, the person I sent it to texted me a picture of the envelope and it was completely mangled and filthy. I went into this post office to ask for a refund and when I explained my situation the man at the desk said, and I quote "That's a promise, not a guarantee." I was confused as to why I would not deserve a refund if I paid extra money to have it shipped in 2 days and it arrived in 5. At the very least, refund me the difference between standard shipping and 2 day shipping. The man treated me poorly and went to get his supervisor. When he was speaking with his supervisor he spoke about me as if I was an idiot who simply couldn't comprehend USPS policy. Common sense would dictate that if it's called 2 day mail, it arrives in 2 days, and if it's not going to arrive in 2 days it should either not be called 2 day mail or that should be explained to every customer who pays for 2 day mail. The supervisor, Lisa, was not any kinder or more polite. I started from the beginning with her in a calm tone but she also spoke disrespectfully like I was an idiot. Neither of them made any attempt to imply that it was understandable for someone who doesn't work at the post office to be surprised by the fact that 2 day mail is not going to arrive in 2 days, and when it doesn't, that's on you as a customer not on USPS. The phone line has a literal hour plus wait according to the automated system, and the website is even more useless. I wonder why the post office is failing. Amazon has 2 day shipping for Prime members, and anytime they fail to deliver within 2 days they have given me a refund or compensation of some kind. It's not about the technicalities, it's about having respect for...
Read moreNever had such a bad experience with any other private carriers. To make a long story short, I ordered some live plants for work and made a note that our business will close at 4 and over the weekend, and made sure the vendor mailed the package on Monday using Priority Mail so we can get it before the weekend. Expected delivery was 8 pm Thursday, and of course it was delayed on its way and I had to call so many times to find out where the package was. Finally Friday afternoon I went to the Hammond office and they told me its not there, but because my work place is closed on Saturday, they can hold it for me to pick up from 9 to noon on Saturday. And of course when I was there Saturday morning at 10, it was on the truck out for delivery. The lady at the post office said that she will text the carrier and ask her to call my cell phone number and update when she will stop by my work place, so I can still wait at my work place to get the package. And OF COURSE there is no call at all. They can never keep their words. My work place is only 12 minutes from the post office and the update says its out for delivery since 8:22 am, and now its 3 pm and its still not here. Monday is a holiday, by the time I get these live plants delivered on Tuesday, they are...
Read moreFor the past week or more my place of business has not gotten ANY mail delivered. We know for a fact we have at least one piece of important mail that gets sent to us everyday. We finally got it delivered a few days ago after calling and making a complaint. Today we had mail to be picked up and sent out, bills and such, but our mail man literally ignored us. We watched him pull into our shopping center, walk past us back and forth several times but paid us no mind. Again, we called and let them know we have important mail that needs to be sent out today and cannot wait cause of the fact we do not know how much longer it can wait with it being withheld from us the week before. First woman said she would sent someone right away cause by law they have to pop their head to check if we have anything outgoing. Over an hour passes so we call again, same thing. An hour after that another guy answers and says he cannot force the mailman to pop his head in if there is no mail for them to drop off to us… makes no sense. Literally talked to us like we were children throwing a tantrum, telling us to just put it in our box and lay the flag down. We do not have a box… he then proceeded to hang up on us. I hope things change soon and the right...
