La Carreta — Restaurant in Hammond

Made a reservation the night before for 5 people. I get a call 40 minutes before our reservation saying there's a storm and no indoor dining available so we will have to sit at the bar to eat. I said I understand you can't control the weather but we are here for dinner we need a table. She Said she'd see what she could do but all tables are full. I made a reservation where I was told outdoor dining might not be possible but now it seems indoor dining isn't possible either? We show up and there is 3 bday parties going on at the same time, and not enough chairs at the table we were sat. If there was going to be multiple parties going on inside I wish they would've told us the night before as there were kids running all over the restaurant making it difficult to hear eachother and atmosphere was overwhelming. Super upbeat, lively restaurant with a variety of dishes and drinks with lots of specials, happy hour, brunch, lunch deals, and daily deals. Served chips and salsa upon being seated. Salsa was the perfect amount of spicy. My strawberry margarita was perfect! Food was both appealing and full of flavor. Also a huge portion on each plate. I couldn't finish mine, but my son finished mine after practically licking his plate clean. The service was polite and offered desserts, to go drinks, and ensured we were pleased with our meals. The only disappointment came when I ordered the Fried Ice Cream and was told they were out. We came about 1:30pm and there was a steady stream of people coming. This has been the absolute worst service I have ever experience from ANY restaurant. First of all, the host sat us at a filthy table went back over to the host stand and return with a disgusting towel that she found under the host stand. The server was clueless and was not attentive at all. The food and drinks arrived at the table which were all wrong. We sat there an entire 10 minutes waiting for the server before having to get up from the table to ask for help. Another server came over to assist the server since we were informed our server had other parties outside to attend to so I'm guessing those parties were more important than our party. The server that came over to our table and had a very nasty attitude, so we asked for a manager, thinking she would help us since the service was terrible. NOPE!
