Zemurray Park — Attraction in Hammond

Grounds are poorly maintained. Playground equipment in need of maintenance. Walking paths are partially flooded due to broken sprinkler lines. Public restrooms are in disarray and need a pressure washing to clean out the debris and a paint job would improve the look. The duck pond gives this park it's best look and it is beginning to decay and safety around the park has declined in that last few years. If you have a busy schedule and need a breathe of air, then check out Zemurray Park. I spent the best times with the family and children enjoying the many features of the park. The park has a walking path, playground, splash pad, fishing pond, mini train, dog park, exercise equipment, basketball court, baseball field, covered gazebos, swimming pool, water fountains, skate park, tennis court, and public restrooms which are wheelchair accessible. I looked for somewhere I could have peace and tranquility and my prayers were answered. This park is so clean, quite and tranquil. It is a large park with a river running in the middle and large ponds on each end. What a beautiful nature inspired park. They offer a skate park, fishing, dog park and many more amenities. Visiting makes me feel earthly even though I dont get out much because of the COVID pandemic. There is enough room for many people while not being too close together.
