Streetside Market — Restaurant in Hammond

The management should take the opportunity to sit in one of the booths (bounce houses) to try and have a meal. My family has tried several times to have a decent meal at this restaurant. Each time the service has been best described as deplorable. Tonight by far would be the worse, after waiting 10-15 minutes to even put in a drink order, things went downhill from there, while sitting in what I describe as a bounce house of a booth, (the cheaply constructed booths transfer any and ALL movement from the adjoining booth). After finally putting in our order (only 3 in the group), we waited and waited, two of the meals arrived with the waiter commenting he would soon return with the third. Twenty minutes after the first meals arrived we informed the waiter to cancel the third order as we had waited so long it was not worth waiting longer. It is understood that with this set up of different stations, all the meals will not come out at once, however this has been the case every time we have been to Streetside. The poor service and the fact that the seating is horrible was the last straw for us, we will not return. I understand that my business will never be missed by the management, but if I can keep someone from having the same miserable experience we had tonight it is worth writing...

Horrible service. We arrived hungry and left hungry and angry thanks to the servers incompetence. It took us 10 minutes after being seated by the hostess to get our drink orders. Then it took 10 minutes to get our drinks. We were on a tight schedule and ordered all our appetizers and food at one time.

After the server got our food order, we waited for our appetizer and had the hostess drop off my meal and one appetizer we had ordered. Our drinks were refilled by the same hostess and we did not see our server for 40 minutes. During this time my wife and child were still waiting for their entrees.

We finally were able to get the server to the table to figure out where the food was. She had completely forgotten my wife’s and child order. She didn’t even notice that I had food and the rest of my family did not the entire time she was on the floor. When asked, about the food, she admitted to not even putting my child’s food in the system. She went to check on my wife’s order and at that point we said to just box it up (which took another 10 minutes). We spent an hour after ordering waiting for a club sandwich and French fries!

So disappointed and will be a long time before going back after everything was said and done not a single...

Rarely do I ever go somewhere and leave thinking "I probably won't ever be back," but last night totally missed the mark for me. Let me start by saying, it is fairly new and there is certainly room for error in that respect. The design is impeccable- the place really looks great. Food from the Asian section of the market... Not as described in the slightest bit. I had Shrimp with Lobster Sauce that was described as a Wok bowl. It looked like a huge plate of Shrimp rice and gravy, and tasted about the same with a dash of cinnamon. I ate the shrimp and couldn't bring myself to eat anything else. We also got a Hawaiian bowl that was good, but didn't advertise that it came covered in spicy mayo.. Not a huge deal, but would be something I think should be denoted on the menu. We never got refills on our drinks, but service wasn't bad; just impersonal and lacking. Overall, I don't think we tried enough to write off the entire place- but it wasn't a great first impression. However, I think they will be a good spot for lunch just in regards to all I saw on the menu. I wish them well and hope that in these minor things...
