My wife and I are both in the Army. Last week I brought my wife to this hospital because she was bleeding on our bed while she was pregnant, my wife gave the check in desk her information, she got her blood pressure and temperature checked and was asked what was going on. After telling them she has been dealing with a subchronic hemorrhage for a while in her first trimester she was told to sit in the waiting room. At this moment it was only me and her in the waiting room. About an hour later another man walked in to check in. Around 30 mins later we were FINALLY called to the back for her to be seen. We get back to the room to be seen and Dr. John Shaner sat us down and asked what was going. My wife informed him that she was 9 weeks pregnant and had been bleeding the past 3 days with blood clots in the toilet after peeing and that she was seen the day prior at a different medical location. He asked her what made her come to Langley (I still don't understand why that matters). She told him because it was closer to the hotel we stayed in for our anniversary. He told us there were no ultrasound techs on standby so in order for her to be seen he would have to call them in. Then said he didn't feel that it was severe enough to order my wife an ultrasound. I asked why is that. He basically tried telling me it wasn't as serious as we think. I said so you're telling me after all my wife just told you you don't feel it's enough to order an ultrasound. He looked me in my eyes and said no I'm not ordering her an ultrasound. I asked him what sense does that make, he stood up out of his chair and stood over me in a threatening way I then stood up as well and we were face to face for around 10 seconds. I then walked around him to find someone else to talk to about my wife's situation and was told no other doctor was there for me to speak with and then was told either I walk out or I will get dragged out of the hospital I was angry so I did say some choice words I'll admit. They called the military police on me. After I was released from the military police after the incident, my wife and I went back to the hotel to check out. My wife went to the bathroom and when I got back to the car where she was she let me know she had a miscarriage. All of this happened on the morning of September 30th and I feel as if we were treated unfairly and with neglect because we...
Read moreGoing to the ER is scary...I had a recent visit to the Langley ER, and I was in pain, alone and scared. I was greeted with a friendly smile, even though I was hysterically crying. The people at the desk handled me quickly and with care. The wait seemed normal for an ER. I waited about an hour to be seen by the doctor. The doctor....she was awesome! Dr. Miller had such an amazing demeanor about her. She was calm and knowledgeable. She was friendly and straightforward. I don't remember the nurses name, but she was also AWESOME! It was like having my mom right there in the room with me. There's nothing more scary about the ER than to be juggled around like no one in the place knows what they're doing. Everyone I encountered, from the front desk to the SRA that signed me out, was professional and courteous. I have only one complaint. I was let to walk out the door still crying hysterically. Now, I was no longer hurt, but I was in the worst pain of my life..and I've had two children. I was not asked if I would be driving myself home or if someone was able to pick me up. I was in NO shape to drive home. It was only when I got home and fainted (for the first time in my life!) from the pain that I realized driving home was not a good idea. Aside from a bad judgement call, probably my fault, I had a good experience for an ER. Thank you guys for all you do and keep up...
Read moreReading these reviews is infuriating, I didn’t realize so many people think they know more than doctors with years of training and experience.
If you trust Dr. Google more than actual healthcare professionals maybe you should just stay home and treat yourself.
Not to mention people seem to be misguided about the fact that your bronchitis, cough, cold, flu or runny nose is not an EMERGENCY and they run an EMERGENCY room.
Get over yourselves and realize if you had to wait a long time your “emergency” wasn’t so emergent and there was most likely far sicker people being treated before you.
But fine if you want to waste everyone’s time and take up a room that could be used for someone who is actually sick because you have a runny nose go right ahead.
I broke my arm and yes I had to wait a little while in the waiting room. That wasn’t so bad. The worst part was when I realized I had to wait because all their patient rooms were filled with people who were too cheap to go buy some Motrin or Sudafed and suck it up.
If you come to this emergency room and you’re waiting to be seen and the thought “there’s so many other things I could be doing right now” or “I could be at home sleeping right now” crosses your mind. Then you shouldn’t be there because your issue wasn’t life threatening or...
