The staff is extremely rude! My husband and I were new to shopping at the commissary. We heard it was more affordable than shopping anywhere else. First time we shopped there they bagged our stuff and helped us take it to the car. We thought they were doing it because I was pregnant. Once we got to the car, they helped unload everything. We told the lady we appriciated her help and she got mad and started yelling at us that she works off tips and that we need to pay. We apologized and we told her we didn't know and didn't have cash on us but we could go to an ATM. And she yelled "NEXT TIME YOU BETTER TELL THEM THAT YOU WANT TO BAG IT AND BRING IT OUT YOURSELF!" We go again and request to bag it ourselves. The cashier asked if we were sure and we said yes since we didnt carry cash on us. She was annoyed and started scanning everything as fast as she could so that my husband would get trambled with everything. This lady was seriously throwing our stuff! A man came up laughing and said "you sure you want to do it yourself?" And the lady said "take over for him" so the man did. We told him after that we'd take it to the car since we didnt have cash. He ignored us and walked again of us and asked where our car was. We got there and started unloading feeling extremely uncomfortable because of our previous experience. As soon as we were done, I took the cars and he waited there. We told him thank you and he yelled at us louder than the last lady. He said "IF YOURE NOT GOING TO PAY THEN DO IT YOURSELF!" And stormed off. We looked at our receipts and although we did save, we were charged a surcharge both times. And being treated that way made it not worth it at all. Our friends from Norfolk said they never experienced problems with the...
Read moreLove my Commissary, I hate having to write the price of items down and checking the prices before leaving the building to correct for over-charges... 3-Stars for selection and price, Zip for accuracy.... Posting this two-months after the previous review. Today, while in the self check-out line, an associate informed me that I wasn't quite in the "feeder-line" correctly... I informed that associate that when you move too far over someone will always try to weasel in... And sure as hell, one did... I suggested that the associate might return to the Produce Section with the other "fruits..." Then, as if this was not bad enough, they wanted twice as much as the listed price for the frozen salmon. They claimed it was not mis-marked, but placed on the wrong shelf, so the price as marked did not apply. The manager said I should have checked the UPC price... I am now giving them only...
Read moreI went there yesterday to pick up some items. As usual, many of the items I was shopping for were moved or out of stock. I used the self checkout lanes and after scanning $65 worth of items with 3 to go, the machine locked up. Approx 20 minutes were spent by the ID checker and duty manager trying to get it to work. Finally they suggested I move to a different register and rescan everything. No thanks! Today I went to Kroger and found everything well marked, machines that worked and friendly workers to assist if anything went wrong. The prices were not out of line and the speed of getting through made it a pleasure. Other than chicken and some cold cuts, I will be shopping at Kroger from now on. The management could learn something from the outside stores. As an aside, most of the employees are friendly and helpful, It's just management...
