I had a well know jeweler in barrington botch up a ring repair. On a whim I stopped in because I was trying to find anyone willing to help me fix it. The other place told me come back in a week for a gold engineer to look at it to fix it right. I lost confidence. I stopped in Alvarez they looked at it said it's a easy fix be ready tomorrow. It was and they did it! I also asked about scrap gold pricing and they offered the highest I had been quoted. So 2 thumbs up. And I'd like to add I had my toddler with me and their dogs are extremely well behaved. I noticed someone say some harsh things about them and that was a complete lie. If I could give them a minus star I would. Waited 20 minutes for owners to arrive. Front door states open at 10... they arrived at 10:22. No apologies at all from business owner for being late. Not only were they late, my pendant was not ready. Owner asked me to wait 10 minutes because he had to clean it. Was not honest with me that they had not yet started on my pendant. It had been in their possession for a week and it should have been ready on a Thursday. It was Friday when I stopped in to pick it up. Not only that, they charged me $45 dollars for a repair that should not cost more than $15. They are ripping people off and I will report them to the BBB. Please do not use these people for anything. I dropped off my bracelet to get repaired and unfortunately picked it up and it was damaged. Luckily this isn’t a bracelet I care too much about but the bead where the chain broke is missing some parts and is deformed now with a sticky residue on it.
