Unless you really don't want, what you take a pawn loan out on, I absolutely don't recommend doing so here. I had been paying my interest payment for 6months, on time every month, and they would usually call me, to remind me, as I'm not exactly in that area as much more recently, due to my new job. This month, I happened to be really busy, especially the last week or so, with meeting requirements for promotion to a permanent position with my company. It just dawned on me, that my interest payment was due a week ago, and I never received a call from "EZ Pawn Streamwood", (as that is how I have their phone # saved), to remind me that my interest payment was due, as even a few months ago, they called me multiple times a day, for a few days, before I had a chance to respond. So I literally called a week after I usually make my interest payment, and they informed me, that they already sold my property, and when I asked why they didn't call to remind me, their answer was "that it's not required". It's not like I owed them hundreds of dollars, the interest payment was for $8, on a $40 loan, for an item that was worth at least $200, and that Guitar Center already offered to buy it from me for $100. That's just it, I really didn't want to sell it, as it was the only thing my dad actually specified in his "Will", that he wanted me to have before he passed on, 15 years ago, almost to the date, that my payment was due. If I hadn't been hurting for the $, to go buy dinner, that my roommate insisted on (who was nice enough to let me stay with him & his kid, for the 10 months after my divorce, when I was jobless, car-less, and would have been homeless) was letting me use his car, and we didn't have enough to get the Popeyes Chicken, that he really had a taste for. That we almost never get to have, and I didn't want to let him down. I told the Manager David,(EZP Streamwood)who made it sound like this item wasn't going to be easy to sell, and for that reason was very reluctant to even give me anything for it, and that I had no interest in selling it. That I would pay back the $40, as soon as I had a way to pick it back up. I still don't have my own car, as I was finally going to have enough next month to do so, and because this item wasn't a small item, it's not like I could just take an Uber, to come pick it up. I've bought, sold, and taken plenty of loans at EZ Pawn Streamwood, over the last 5 years, and if there was ever an issue of payment, they would contact me, so I don't understand the complete lack of consideration, or even attempt to contact me, when I made my intentions clear, and if it had become an issue of the space I was taking in the back room, wasn't worth the $8 interest a month, then they could have just reached out to me like a man. On that note, they will never have my business again, nor anymore recommendation of business, to...

For the last 3 months I was looking at a cerwin vega sub they had listed at $409 dollars. I was on the fence as it wasn't a great price for a fairly worn looking cabinet.
A few weeks (maybe 4) I went it and was going to pull the trigger on the purchase. But before I did I wanted to have it tested. I didn't catch his name but he was very friendly and had no issue testing it out. Turns out the sub itself was near death. Blown but not completely...yet. He tested another speaker to make sure the other equipment was working. It was, so the Cerwin vega was definitely bad. Obviously this cut the sale as I wasn't going to spend over 400 for a plywood box.
The gentleman stating he agreed it was bad and "would have to see what we got into it and then make it as clearance, most likely at a loss".
Fast forward 2 weeks later. I went in to see what it was marked down to (in all fairness, should have been marked down to the cost of a sheet of plywood). It was sitting in the same spot with the same price of $409. I ask if it was repaired...this is where I think the man recognized me. Says "no, im just waiting for the approval to put it at clearance pricing".
This is where I got very suspicious they were trying to sell it as working order for full pricing. So I had a friend go in an hour or so later, to ask about it. I told him what man to ask (as I wanted it to be the same guy who knows about the sub)...to ask..."is there any known issues with the sub". He was told, "not that we are aware of". He then asked "are you able to test it for me"? The worker told him "im sorry, we are kinda busy right now but if you come in early tomorrow, we can test it for you"
This is directly a case of fraud. The employee who knew it was bad lied about its condition. On ezpawns web site it clearly states (look at the photo).
I wrote corporate about it (look at photos below). Was told I'd get answers, I'd receive a phone call from a district manager (never happened) and I would be updated as soon as possible. None of which happened. They are allowing bad merchandise to be sold as working and KNEW it wasn't. The sub should have been pulled from the floor, or drastically marked down as its nothing more then a large plywood box.
Beware of Ezpawn. Their non-ethical practices to make money on unaware consumers.
And please, if youre (ezpawn) is going to respond with "sorry to hear you had a bad experience, call this number with this reference number" hoopla. No, I will not. You have my number, my email. Ball is in your court to respond to me as I was...
Read moreIf I were to rate EZpawn I would give it no stars at all. My Mother bought a necklace pendant 2 hrs ago came home not even 40 min after she had bought it the pendant came apart looks like it was glued on to by someone. The employees take pictures of the items they sell, I guess blurry pictures are clear pictures to them. The return policy is 1day after purchasing item we went back not even 1hr after buying it they gather up in one side of the store talking to what look to us secretly. The guy came back told us they can't return the item because the pendant doesn't match the picture they took and weight differently. Now I would've avoided giving this review if they would follow the return policy they have on the receipt. NOW!!!! every jewelry hat you guys sell is questionable if it's even real or not or glued or welded together. I would suggest taking a person with you that knows about jewelry so the this EZPAWN doesn't try and scam you. They called us 10 minutes later after we had left the store saying that hey will return our money tomorrow and NOT TODAY! So people BEWARE!!!of the items you buy at this EZPAWN!!! We might go tomorrow to see if they keep their word on returning our money. My name is Manuel Villalpando I have never had problems with stuff that we buy.
Ps I have attached 2 pictures to let you're staff know on how pictures are supposed to look when you say it's a "clear picture".
THANK...
