Real La Michoacana - Hanover Park — Restaurant in Hanover Township

This is my first time visiting La Michiocana, I was excited and was hoping to try something new.

I asked for a double scoop of the coffee ice cream and piñon after reviewing the menu online. It cost around 6 bucks in a small cup. The man at the register was quick to help me, and was very friendly.

I started tasting the ice cream in small bites, but I found out three things. One, I liked the cappuccino ice cream. Two, I found two stringy plastics hidden in the ice cream. One was in the coffee and the other was in the piñon. Three, the piñon tasted extremely weird, as if it was expired. Its that kind of flavor where you can tell something is wrong.

I'm not sure if I'm going to try another location. Maybe...

We ordered 2 ice cream cones w 1 scoop of ice cream each. there are no prices listed in the store. when we checked out, we were charged $14 for the ice cream cones!! thats ridiculous!! People working there are not friendly and seems like they cant be bothered when you inquire about the flavors. Weve been to other michoacana store in palatine and for $7. 95 you can get a grande size cup filled w several scoops of ice cream!! We wont be back to this place again!! the strawberry ice cream does not have chunks of strawberries like they do in the Palatine chain store, and management is definitely very different. We will continue to support the Palatine business even though...

We love coming every week to buy your yummy icecream- it’s delicious. The customer service however is beyond unacceptable. The woman who works here is rude. Every week she doesn’t put butter on the elote and claims they are out. Every single week. If I ask her to bag the elotes for the road she literally chucks the bags for us to put them in. If I ask for napkins she rolls her eyes and has them fall into someone else’s order leaving me with stained napkins. I had to ask for my change as she assumed it as a típ.
