I would have given them zero stars but the opportunity isn’t presented to me here.
I would like to start this review with the fact I am a colorectal cancer survivor and my 79 year old father who suffers from spinal stenosis are the only two people residing at the address and the job that was assigned to them.
About three weeks ago now I contacted this company to have them unclog the main drain in my basement. As I use it regularly for my handicapped bathroom. As disgusting as that may seem to some, I’m left with no other option for the rest of my life.
This company proceeded to show up when I had over six inches of standing RAIN WATER in my basement and literally do things I have never seen a professional plumber do. I had clear rain water coming into my basement from a clogged deadman’s drain outside my garage door, and it was causing water to run under the door and into my basement. Mind you, CLEAR, CLEAN water. After the first day this company had arrived they had already began to snake drains which caused them to stir up a lot silt, and mud, and other residue. After failing the first day in which they spent five hours and never attempted to put a camera in the line so that they could locate the clog. They told us they would return in the morning.
Next morning comes, no call, no communication they don’t show up until after noon. At which time they brought a “jetter”, and yet again failed after four hours. This time they leave and tell us they will be back after lunch and that they think they have located the problem. Being they never came back that day, needless to say, I was wearing thin with my patience and how this has been handled so far.
Day three and they finally come with a camera and tell us they think that will have it done today. Again……fail.
Now…….. Here’s what I will never understand. They literally just quit coming. They quit the job and walked away leaving my basement covered in mud and never even reached out to us, to tell us that they were too inept to complete the job. Or even to come back to clean up the mess. Also they left things unplugged(my basement freezer) and hundreds of dollars of food were lost because they never plugged the freezer back in after using the outlet for their equipment.
I’ll remind you, my father is 79. I survived colorectal cancer and don’t have the most endurance in the world. So the clean up is left to me?
SO, PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! This was the worst business practice I’ve experienced in my 55 years of life. THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY WERE...
Read moreWhen I lived in Natrona Heights years ago, Arnold's was my go-to hardware store. I'm across the river now, but I still bring my lawn mower to them every spring for it's "tune up." Of all the places I've got to for mower service, Arnold's is definitely the most thorough, as well as the most reasonable when it comes to cost. What I really like is that they will attempt to do a repair on the mower before they recommend replacing parts. They've also had the quickest turnaround time.
When it comes to other hardware needs, the staff there is knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. They can quickly locate whatever it is you're looking for, and if they don't have it, they'll either order it, or can tell you who will have your part.
When I lived up in the Heights, I rented an older house. Once, I attempted a fairly simple shower repair. When I went up to Arnold's to get the part, they told me not only that they didn't have it, but that the part was no longer being manufactured. Instead of trying to convince me to buy two whole new assemblies (hot and cold water) and replacing what I had (a much more involved, and expensive job), they directed me to a shop in Downtown Pittsburgh that specialized in obtaining and stocking these sorts of obsolete plumbing parts.
Passing on a sale in order to provide the service I wanted is the mark of a business that I will recommend to anybody...
Read moreI wish I could fully explain how badly these guys suck without writing a novel. To make a long story short, I needed someone to do a dye test in order to sell my house. My realtor set this up, so I wasn't able to make the choice myself.
They did the test (got dye all over the gutters, walkways, my kid's toys, etc.. not to mention they tore up my yard around a man hole cover) then told me I failed for two gutters tied into the sewage system. I asked them if they could fix it, they said they'd rather not. They told me how to fix it. I did. They said they'd be back out to check and make sure what I fixed was correct (at no extra charge).
A few days later, they finally returned my calls and told me it would be $50 to come back out in a week (mind you the buyers close in a week). They claimed they don't charge enough for the dye test anyways, so they weren't too worried about it. I told them that wasn't my fault if they're not charging enough. If it's that big of a hassle, I'm not sure why they even do it.
Update- Arnold & Sons were upset that I wasn't satisfied with their work and refused to come back out and finish the dye test. It went as far as the owner screamed at me on the phone to go somewhere else.
These guys are COMPLETELY...
