Saxon Inn — Restaurant in Harrison Township

Horrible ownership and customer service. We got kicked out after waiting over and hour and half for our food. So we have been told by my family that the food was good here so we decided to try it out. Guess I will never know how the food is cause we got kicked out. After waiting 90 minutes to get soup we asked to talk to the manager about where our food was. The manager came out and explained its because they had so many orders of chicken wings and can only cook 12 at a time. Then she preceded to blame her waitress for the wait. We expressed how we dont think they need to blame the waitress and things got ugly from there. The cook or many owner came out at this point and states how people wait 2 hours at olive garden for bad food but its a big deal to wait here. We explained we dont mine waiting but someone needs to explain to use why it take 90 minutes to get soup? They went again on the chicken wing thing and then the other tables in the restaurant chirped up and say we didnt order chicken wings and we have been waiting for over a hour as well. This made the older lady angry and she yell fine I will comp your meal. We stated that we dont want to have our meal comp we just wanted to know when it would be ready because its 8 oclock now and my young baby needs to go home and go to sleep. She again tried to talk about olive garden and I explained that I have no problem waiting for good food but you need to set expectations for your customers that the wait is going to be long...especially when there was only 5 tables full in the restaurant. This pissed her off and she told us to get out and we dont get food. we stated we wanted to pay for it and take it home and she wouldnt let the wait staff bring it out to us....she simply told us to get out. If you cant take feedback ...and you make your customers wait hours for food...you arent going to make it long in your industry. I think this place is better...

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place since we moved to the area last year. However, we had an awful experience and will not return. We got there at 620pm on a Saturday, expecting it may be busy of course. We walked in to the restaurant side (non-drinkers here) and had to seat ourselves. Fine, but difficult when every table was dirty with plates and glasses still on it. Every single empty table. We sat and after a few minutes a waitress did come over and wipe it off, and got drinks for us. She didn't acknowledge us after this for about 30 minutes. We then ordered an appetizer and two sandwiches, at once. 40 minutes later (again without any update from or even sighting of the waitress), we get the app. Without silverware or the dip, which took about 10 minutes to bring. Then out food came about 20 minutes later. The food was average, but the services was so horrible. The waitress never showed face and brought food but didn't notice our empty drinks, which took 10 more minutes to get out. There were only 4 other parties in our section, but clearly the bar patrons are all they care about. All the other tables were noticeably upset as well. They also had a girl helping who clearly had no clue what she was doing, but we saw her more than the "waitress"! We never not tip, but they really should be embarrassed by their service. If you're too busy, just shut the restaurant side down. Or, at least let us know how busy the bar is and that you really only care about them, because that is how it seemed. I hope others who visited Feb 4 evening write the same. I chalk this up to poor management who won't staff their business, but WANT business. Never again and WILL be warning others. You will get better service and the same food at Eat n Park (all you could hear was the microwave dinging but yet no one was...

We ended up at Saxion by a search in Google Maps for restaurants nearby. It's tucked in on a side road and had no idea it existed! When we walked in, we went left to the bar and decided to go back and to the right to the restaurant area. The staff was super busy with a big party but made sure we knew they were on the way to wait on us. The waitress apologized immediately for the wait upon arrival at our table. We understood and explained that it was perfectly understandable. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! The buffalo chicken salad came in a large bowl (see photo). The buffalo chicken strip appetizer came with 3 pieces of perfectly cooked chicken, crunchy and drenched in buffalo sauce that I can say...
