Pinnacle Overlook: Five Stars for Hang-Gliding, Low-Budget Lodging, and Questionable Life Choices
Pinnacle Overlook—it’s got the word pinnacle right there in the name, which is bold for a spot that's one stiff breeze away from being a glider pilot's final destination. And honestly? That’s the charm.
You’re not coming here for safety rails and a gift shop. You’re coming because it feels like someone forgot to gatekeep the view. Perched high above a patchwork quilt of trees, rivers, and faint regret, this is the kind of place that dares you to mutter, “I could probably sleep here,” and then actually do it.
The hang-gliding? Sublime. Just launch yourself off the edge and let gravity sort it out. No staff. No waivers. Just you, a half-deflated parachute, and a whispering wind that says, “Trust me, bro.”
And let’s talk accommodations: If you’re short on coin (or simply allergic to paying for a campsite), the overlook itself becomes your budget Airbnb—with zero walls, a million stars, and possibly a raccoon roommate. There’s a flat patch near the cliff that screams “sleep here if you hate comfort but love metaphors.” No bathroom, no power, no problem.
Bring a blanket. Bring snacks. Bring a firm understanding that you might wake up dew-soaked, bird-pecked, and deeply fulfilled. Final Thoughts:
Pinnacle Overlook isn’t for the rich. It’s for the bold. The thrifty. The slightly unhinged. Come for the view. Stay because you already jumped off.
Perfect for:
Hang-gliders
Dirtbag philosophers
People who consider “budget adventure” a personality trait
Fans of waking up with ants in their socks and meaning in their heart
Highly recommend. Just don’t roll over...

Once you reach the Pinnacle Overlook, there are several parking spaces, restrooms, and the adventure and exploration can begin! Some of the walking trails are paved with a few steps here and there, and it's only 600 feet from the parking lot to the overlook, so all ages can see its beauty. Obviously pets are welcome and I'm sure would love it. The views and scenery are gorgeous! I won't give too much away you just gotta see...
