I stopped in to get a battery for my ESQ by Movado watch. The girl took it back and started working on it. This watch is sentimental and when she lost the screw from inside the watch, yes I was upset and concerned when the owner told me that this is uncommon to happen and that I'd have to leave the watch. She would have to order the screw but was unsure of how long they would have the watch. The owner asked me to leave because it was making it harder for the girl to find the screw. I did leave and about 45 minutes later they called and said my watch was ready. The owner did not charge me for the battery or service but also gave me a gift card for my troubles which I didn't expect. I am wondering if maybe they should have something on the floor so that whenever this does happen it will catch the screws and not get lost in the carpet. The magnet they use didn't work instead, they had to use tape to find it. I didn't even get a chance to get the band resized and I didn't want to after all that happened. Read moreMy husband and I walked in on a Friday afternoon to have a battery replaced in my husband watch. The young gal that helped us told us she couldn't help us, but the owner could. The owner ( lady) was on her work phone walking around talking on it and told the young lady that she wouldn't be able to help us today with the watch battery but we could leave it and pick up tomorrow. We explained how we were in a slight hurry today and was really hoping to get this done now. The owner told the young gal I can't help them now I'm on the phone and they would need to leave it. I am an owner as well and I would never ever do this to a client or anyone who walked in my business. If that phone conversation is that important you take in the back office. We will never step foot in there again. Sad you try to help a small shop and get treated like this. Grand Rapids I will continue to...
Read moreI went in the store because I was told you have to get the prongs on your ring fixed every 5-10 years. I was asking how much to get them fixed in my wedding ring and she was checking it out. I was then told that my ring which was almost 20 years old didn't need to have the prongs repaired because they were still in great shape. The big box stores wanted to charge me $100 per prong or up sell me on a new ring. I can't help where my husband got the ring but I can choose where I go for upkeep and future purchases. I will always go to Gilmore's. I love...
