Hardy Street Mart Shopping Center — Local services in Hattiesburg

Yeah I was very disappointed with my shopping experience yesterday. I needed onions. So scrolling to the produce section, I located the onion section. Started to reach and pick out my selection and huge flies flew out everywhere. It wasn't just a few, but so many all over the onions and other produce. I realized that the store is being remodeled. When I pulled up, I don't recall any entrance doors left open. So I chose a bag of onions instead of the loose ones where flies had been on. Went to checkout, I wanted to share this with the cashier, but she was in such deep conversation with another staff member. Usually you are greeted and asked if you found everything okay. And a thank you for shopping with us. But, that never happen. So, I think I won't be returning to shop at this location...

I've been shopping at this location for decades. The friendly people and the familiarity have kept me coming. The price hikes that came with the recent rebranding, combined with often-long lines staffed by rude young women, have significantly decreased the frequency that I shop here. I often drive past this one now, to the location nearer to midtown.

If I could rate individual departments, however, the staff in the meat department would deserve 5 stars. Friendly and courteous, they'll run to the back and cut you...
