The Tavern — Restaurant in Hattiesburg

The Tavern is hands-down the best bar in Hattiesburg. A lot of pool tables, a GREAT owner/bartender, a claw machine with porn and dildos, and a punching bag game that gives you a good idea of who's a macho jerk. Back when the building was St. Elmos, it was kinda a "no man's land" if you catch my drift, but there's definitely tons of men around now. Plus, when the owner kicks you out for being rude to the cop on the back deck, he's not mean about it, just like "hey bro, he's a really good dude and you're pretty drunk it's probably about time you find a ride."

Overall a swell place. If Nick's Ice House sold hard liquor I'd probably go there more often, since it's closer to where I live and I like the decor a little better, but it is what it is- a great place to go!!! Best bands in Hattiesburg if you aren't the type that has a tastefully shaggy beard, smokes American Spirits, and is trying to "promote the culture" of the area. Yay Tavern. I only didn't give it five stars because I've yet to see anyone naked or have someone give me free pizza while I was there. I mean, five stars literally...
