Update after reading owners response: I didnāt mean to say ārouterā, I meant to say, āadapterāāyou know, the thing that you FORGOT to put back into my computer. Yeah, thatā¦.youāre the industry expert. š I stand by what I saidāPROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! And to the business owner, shame on you for not having any decent customer service šš
Donāt know where to begin. The overall google review rating is what motivated me to drive over an hour for service. Yes, he told me that there would be a diagnostic fee when I dropped it off. He called me the following day to share prognosis and said it would be available the next week. Midway into next week, I had to call to get a status update-apparently, it was determined that it was something else and they had to call for other parts-should be ready the following week (note: Iām self-employed and I consider my laptop as my bread and butter in securing work). I call early the following weekāsaid that they were waiting on shipping and they couldnāt give me a clear estimate of when it would be ready. Told me that I had no knowledge of the industry because if I knew, then Iād know that they donāt have control over when parts come in. I then ask him to revisit the actual price of the repair, to which he tells me $350+. Iām skeptical (I paid $420 for the laptop on sale one year prior brand new.) He immediately tells me that he told me the price and that I verbally agreed, etc. At this point, I donāt want to argue, but Iām feeling slighted because of the ever evolving change in the prognosis that he shared each time I call. I ask him to give me an itemized invoice-he basically berates me and tells me again, I know nothing about the industry.š. He rattles off a few numbers, including $180 for shipping. š³. Was he expecting to receive a shipment of kryptonite?
Long story short: -I rushed out to by a replacement laptop because my repair wouldnāt be ready in time for a prospect client interview (again, new business oops for me); -no later than I purchased new laptop ($400), he calls to tell me it was ready for pickup. Wt??! No argument. I coordinate to race across town to pick it up and pay him the discounted rate of $330 -get home to find out router/adapter wonāt pick up my wifi.he tells me itās a no brainer-reset modem so that my wifi will catch. At this point, Iām mentally checked out. -why I decide to write this review to caution others: later on the following week, take my repaired device to Geek Squad and they detected that my router was MISSING. Whoever assembled it did NOT reinsert my router that was built into my laptop. I had to purchase an external router, which now prevents me from using a wireless mouseā¦.SIGH!
I chose to no longer engage in conversation with him because even after all was said and done, Angelo maintained a cocky disposition, telling me that I am the one that should come back to his shop to have the device looked at once more re wifi issues even though his website explicitly states that they would make home visits.
No sense of compassion, empathy, you knowā¦basic customer service skills.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe most disappointing service I have ever received in a computer repair service. After spending $150 to determine that my computer needed to be replaced, I purchased a refurbished computer from CNA computer repair (very fairly priced) and asked for the data to be transferred from my old hard drive to the new computer. I received a verbal estimate over the phone of between 80 and $200 for data transfer based on the amount of data that would be transferred. It took over a week to receive my new (refurbished) computer. I paid about $200 in data transfer fees. Once I received my computer I realized that only 12 GB of pictures had been transferred to the new hard drive. When I brought the computer back in to determine if all of the data had been transferred, they said the only data they could transfer were the 12gb of pictures. So essentially I paid $200 for 12 GB of data transfer (pictures only, no documents or PDFs that weren't originally attached to my OneDrive) to my new computer.
Updated review:
I was never upset with the price of the diagnostics nor the price of the refurbished computer. This, as I stated, was very fair. My only complaint was the cost of the data transfer and that the cost did not reflect the amount of data transferred. The cost of a different technology company working on my "disaster" recovery was less than yours and took them less than 45 minutes to recover the data and 2-3 hours to transfer it into my new hard drive and a cloud backup that they thoughtfully set up for me.
I would never complain about a small business without appropriate grounds. It is not my intent to offend you but rather to inform potential clients of my experience with your business. I am not impetuous but it is quite possible that your response to my review was.
You have used inflammatory language and insinuated that I was upset about "food recipes" and that I should be happy you were able to save my "priceless photos" when, in fact, my concern was much deeper. The "food recipes" you speak of were actually my residency research materials and data from one of the largest surface electromyography studies ever performed in the canine. They weren't "food recipes," they were my doctoral research and your insinuation that I was upset about "food recipes" is downright insulting. Additionally, my "priceless photos" are backed up, so I did not need those transferred.
Sir, you have my invoice, my cell phone number is on that invoice. I would recommend that, before you respond again in a public sector, you reach out to me about why my experience deserved a 1...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have a gaming pc I built myself, and with the work and the holiday coming, I didn't have time to repair it myself. The issue was that the pc failed to power on. Now, this pc contains an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, MSI X470 mobo, 32 gb rgb Lexar ARES 4000mhz, EVGA 850 gold psu, and a MSI RTX 3070.
The repairman informed me the issue was the motherboard, and he gave me 2 options for replacements. His words were a $190 or $300 board. Ok, what is the brand and model i asked. His reply, I don't have that at the moment. I asked several times only to have my question avoided. Right then, I knew I should've gotten my pc and not come back. But I needed my pc up and running and had no time to do the repair/replacement myself. And went with the $190 option. Even if they replaced it with the same board, which is currently $199, that would be fine
I picked up the pc to be billed $545.90 while looking at the "Affordable pc repair" sign in the repairman room floor. I've built entire pc's for less. I asked for the old motherboard and the box for the new one, only to be met with dodges on how they cleaned up, and it may have been thrown out. I wouldn't be swayed this time and finally received both. After looking at the $120 asrock motherboard that was installed, I was furious.
Never again. Lesson learned: Next time, do it myself. Very dishonest business. Minus the boards actual price, they pocketed $425.90 for installing a cheap replacement "that i will have to change" and a diagnostic of the issue. I know times are hard, but in this day and age of word of mouth, it benefits, to be honest. I can not recommend this place for anyone. Stay far, far away.
Edit: In response to the CNA response. My son dropped off the pc, so the price was never discussed. Also, it took a week for the board to come. The board is $120, not $150. It's two days shipping on amazon and newegg. If I wanted it done fast, 7+ days isn't fast. Also, I never stressed a time frame. I asked several times for the model and brand, and that information was never given. What would be the excuse for that? Try being honest instead of doing bad business and then attempting to do damage control about bad reviews. Lastly, I still have to replace the shit board that you guys installed, so yeah I will be doing the repair myself. You're welcome for the donation that I gave you, won't make the same mistake again, and I stress others not to do the...
