Kona Diving Company Huaka'i Boat — Local services in Hawaii

We dove with Kona Diving company on Saturday December 22 morning and evening. In comparison to Jack's Diving locker which we dove on Sunday December 23rd morning and evening Overall we give the edge to Kona. Both dive centers will get the 5 stars but feel Kona had a more personal touch. Hailey from Kona was very informative maybe a bit too informative. She likes searching for tiny fish I rather go see the tubes and large animals. We dove the manta dive but saw no manta unfortunately. That's just a roll of the dice the manta are wild animals and do not get paid to come see divers. I would dive with Kona again if I came back to the Big Island I feel smaller is better when it comes to diving. All dive shops have access to the same water sometimes the brownies make the edge work...

The Honokohau Harbor is where many of the charter boats depart from for your fishing charters and eco-friendly charters. The harbor has a few public restrooms, a marine supply store, charter desk, two gas stations, a deli, and currently one restaurant.

There are temporary slips, permanent slips, and commercial slips, as well as two boat launch ramps for trailer vessels.

On the north side of the Harbor is also a National Park with a nice beach for turtle watching and snorkeling. On the south-side of the harbor is a great beach for shore diving, swimming, and bringing your dog to enjoy the water.

If you decide you want to head to Kona after your charters, the harbor is only minutes from downtown Kona and just off the main highway so it's convenient coming from anywhere...

This was an AMAZING SCUBA experience. It was my second dive after I took my class in November and everyone was great! Leslie was my dive guide and she was clear in what she was expecting from us and what would happen and asked us what we wanted to see. She pointed out so many small little critters I would have missed! Daniel was the other guide and he helped us with our tanks and answered questions even though he was with another group. Jill was the boat driver and was very wonderful making us drinks and helping us with weights and getting in/out of the water.
