Our waitress was very friendly and upbeat. Definitely been a waitress for a while....you can just tell when they are seasoned. The food was decent as well. Not AUTHENTIC Mexican food with some things, but close enough that we will come back to eat because it was good and the kids enjoyed it. (Authentic Mexican food doesn't use flour tortillas for everything or any kind of white cheese sauce which we find a lot here in the South). We got there kind of late- there were other patrons in the restaurant and we had about an hour and a half before they closed so we decided to try it out. By the time we were leaving which was 10 min before closing, the staff had already started cleaning up (mind you they started about 20 minutes prior to us leaving) sweeping and mopping floors around our table, and putting up chairs at all the tables around ours and in our section, so we felt really rushed. I understand you want to get home but I felt it was kind of rude when they weren't even closed yet. One thing that did bother me, was a male employee came over to our table, prior to us ordering food (we had our menus and drink orders in already) and he dropped something off for the waitress who was busy with other patrons. My husband had a question about what the "taco dog" was on the kids menu, and the employee shook his head, shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know", and walked away. Ummmm. What? We entered the main building and, again, no sign on the doors. But we made our way in and the staff was super friendly. Flabio, our server, was the best! Very attentive and super fast. The chips were a bit stale, but put some yummy cheese dip on them and it was all good. We both got quesadillas and they were delicious. Mine were grilled chicken and steak. Really top notch. Moist on the inside and just a bit crispy on the outside. Very flavorful meat. Be sure to get the guacamole. It's very fresh and a bit on the chunky side, but totally delicious. Would definitely return next time we're in town. And we'd probably ask for...
Read moreCan't believe I haven't yet reviewed Monte Alban... I'm a Blairsville native and I've been coming here for decades. Married an Army soldier and we lived all over the world for almost ten years and then moved home a couple years ago and it's back to my favorite place for a meal in town as if I never left. The manager is just awesome and goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is great. The waiters are attentive and polite. The food is ALWAYS hot and fresh and comes out quickly. The chicken soup is the best I've ever eaten... Loaded with shredded chicken, rice, avocadoes, and cilantro. I order food to go frequently and it's always ready in a few minutes and they've never once messed up my order. Big portions, fair prices....
