Fox Theatre — Local services in Hays

I wasn't originally supposed to travel with a musical artist I manage on a Midwest mini-tour they had scheduled in January 2024. Because of weather and circumstances, I ended up on a winter January midwest tour that stopped at The Fox Theatre in Hays, Kansas, on January 13th, 2024. At load-in, the club owners had hot coffee ready for the bands (which was an ideal greeting, given the snowy terrain we traveled through to get there and the -8 degrees temperature!) The staff, including the venue-front-of-house sound engineer, bartenders, caterers, and security, were accommodating and friendly. It was a great, sold-out, and smooth concert experience. The facilities, amenities, sound and stage quality, and overall feeling of the club were excellent. What a gem of a club for this small town; I hope to be able to play here or come through again...

Theatre is nice, staff is friendly and attentive. Building is clean. I haven’t been to a concert there, so am unable to review on that aspect of it. But when we saw John Caparulo, he was awesome. But all 3 performers were so hard to hear up in the balcony, plus the constant chatter from the bar. This business is a valuable asset to hays, but I hope they take into consideration some better sound or volume control on comedians in the future. I paid around $130 for a couple tickets to hear 1/4 of the show. Only reason for 3 stars is the friendliness of staff. Drinks are very overpriced too. Just keep that in mind...

What a lovely event venue! We were here for a wedding reception. Tables and seating were comfortable. Food and cake serving areas laid out nicely with plenty of room to maneuver. Little kids loved the space to run and play and the older kids found the main level accessible with ramps, not steps, to the dance floor and seating areas. Unfortunately, unless I missed an elevator somewhere, those with mobility issues would not be able to enjoy the amazing balcony area. Fun movie poster displays can be used for your own photos.
