as all remaining malls ITS SAD remembering long ago when I was in my youth the mall we know today, awaits it's final door lock, amongst other retail and commercial in person to which luxury becomes obsolete. AI as well erroneously predicted convenient automated, safer less expensive, and minimizing errors, human once thought is a terrific idea, yet now defeated forced unemployment consistent inclination and first ever for many Californians whom ten years ago endured bidding wars on home purchases and retail negotiations per sf. a cut The federal administration to housing assistance, bringing more than ever before homeless population and with recent changes to law and enforcement by institutions and or jail population back up, nonetheless violent offenders released in pandemic furthermore safety and well being for many never before been forced to streets is hard to believe vacancy rates increasing daily, to know where we went as a kid an arcade an eatery a store for every person with humans to personally assist us one of few to remain. although the northeast where the Sears and automotive repair is only a memory to long ago, symbolizes today image of an apocalyptic residual soon to swarmed by newly assembled walking transformers in real life. hopefully those forced in poverty can be as merry and happy as Jetsons with a Rosie accommodating needs to families safe from AI with space crafts to transport and floating homes will be for those unhoused and aren't left to be cement slabbed paint from unprotected and unsecured trampled over by human intelligence and their innovation as they thought they could change the world for the better. oh no another few life changes with great desires to take the date from GOD as our Creator to scientifically advance medicine and educate next generation higher education having support of AI, separated poverty from the elite and no middle class. I remember Southland having a store and/or eatery for every budget. the crowded marble floors with soft background music and an odor of newly sewn materials leather wallets, aroma mixed candlestick home sweet home fragrance and room renewals, and latest trendy designer perfume from either Emporium Capwells or JCPenney. Each entry to mall having a jewelery store with glittering golds and diamond, watches, rings, and every bling imaginable, whether frugal budget for a buy from CRESENT JEWELERS or a more prestigious selection from Barron's, always brought a feeling of riches putting the shoppers mind into a "I want it, gotta have it" mood and therefore purchases were transacting very much throughout the day as shoppers came to window shop would find any given item they found attraction to matching the tangable affordability determined from paper currency and jinjang of a coin purse and or Levis front pocket.
notice pant pockets are no longer as they used to be? less to carry with a phone. ever notice not all women have purses? they took going out of style having a need was yesterday. where do females conceal the more personal private items? permanent makeup, feminine products on market last an entire day to maintain, no finger nail polish needed to fix runny pantyhose because those too, obsolete. Bank branches too await the final lock.
Next time you wish to help humanities and create a better world for all.....DEMAND A HUMAN, A REAL LIVE HUMAN, GROCERY SHOP WITH A BASKET NOT A PHONE, EAT OUT OR TAKE FAMILY TO A PARK WITH PONY RIDES ACCEPTING COINS FOR PAYMENT . MORESO PURCHASE A COUPLE OF $5 PREPAID CARDS, instead saying "no sorry I don't carry cash on hand" throw down a prepaid card as you exit your freeway having a home as destination, sleep better that evening to know you care and share. Those poor people walk to the median, humiliated, denied time after time, legs hurt walking constantly and some rest where they are because the toothpicks holding their eyes open became pooped too, so exhausted from a day of hard embarrassing work and risk to their own freedom as arrest or citations are chance they have a story of chaos and...
Read moreWill always be fond of Southland Mall. My gramps used to work at the Ice Skating rink when it was there. Mom worked at Sears Roebuck, LaPlayla ; aunt's and uncles worked at Sears automotive. I think at 15, even I worked at Walgreens for a quick minute.
Hopefully Amazon doesn't wipe out all Malls. Social media cannot effectively replace actual physical socialization. It's a changing world, but I'd like to see it change for the better.
Hell, I wonder how many words I'm allowed to type here. Let's find out, shall we?
Today, 25% of all world production is done by automation. It is forecasted that by 2055, 50% of all world production will be done by machines, automation and AI.
From the beginning of time, til 1800, we homo sapiens did not number one billion. We first hit a world population ~in 1801. Took just a little over a hundred years to hit 2 billion in 1927. 3 billion in 1945.
Today we are quickly approaching the 8 billion people mark. By 2055 we will probably be +10 billion.
It is no stretch of the imagination to see a world population of 24 billion people, -and because of advancements in technology, robotic automation and AI-, only 100 million jobs. Are the 23.9 billion who don't work; -who can't work-, are they to be considered derelicts, losers, moochers or get-overs?
No.
We went from Hunter/ Gatherer, to Agriculture, to Industrial (and Industrial Military complex), to today's Financial-based economy, into tomorrow's Science-based economy. We will eschew the concept of money entirely; out of necessity.
There's a big rock headed for Earth. We finally have the technology to mitigate another mass extinction event; to not go the way of the dinosaur. Yet we're self-distracted by our politics; our money.
You need to start teaching your children that THEY OWN NOTHING. Nobody "owns" ANYTHING; not even the atoms in your body. You are merely the current user of those atoms, and will one day relinquish them -back to the Universe from whence they came.
If we could all get on the same page about that, then Humanity will truly hit it's stride.
Hey, you read it all. Now let's see if...
