KABUL EXPRESS KABOB — Restaurant in Hayward

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Kabul Express Kabob in Southland Mall, Hayward, and I have to say, it was a delightful experience. As a parent, I know the struggle of finding a restaurant that pleases both adults and picky kids, but Kabul Express Kabob truly impressed us. The food was simply delicious. Even my usually hard-to-please kids couldn't get enough. From the mouthwatering kabobs to the flavorful Kabuli Pulao, every bite was a winner. So, if you're someone who loves exploring new flavors or simply enjoys traditional Afghan cuisine, do yourself a favor and give Kabul Express Kabob a try. This place is a hidden gem!!

It is located in the Southland Mall- I happened to stumble upon it by chance after some unsuccessful shopping. I had never really tried Afghan cuisine prior, so I decided to order on a whim- I landed on a serving of Bolani per their recommendation. It did NOT disappoint. They are VERY generous with their serving portions- my friends and I were genuinely impressed.

"One order of Bolani is good enough for two people."

And boy were they right. Super cheap pricing too.

Another notable point is the employees are so sweet and down to earth!! Nowadays I only come to Southland Mall to order from this place and say hi to the people that work there. 5 stars...

I never write reviews but I have to with this place. I wanted to give this place a try after seeing their high reviews while I was at the mall. My husband and I are very picky with take out food. We are Middle Eastern and had Afghani food countless of times. I was helped by the older gentleman he was so kind with good customer service. Now the food was amazing. It tasted homemade fresh. The rice was perfect. The lamb shank was flavorful and the shami lamb had a pleasant fragrant delicious taste, even their mint green salsa was perfect on the heat. I can’t wait to go back and try their chicken entrees. Definitely a hidden gem! So good...
