A Magical Date Night at Beehive Pottery!
I recently discovered Beehive Pottery, a new local business in Heber, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience there. My husband took a pottery class back in school and absolutely loved it. He still proudly displays some of his creations around our home. So when I heard that Beehive Pottery offered couples date nights where you can build pieces together, I knew it would be the perfect surprise.
I reached out to the owner, and she was incredibly sweet and accommodating. She worked with our schedule and even opened up at 5pm just so we could take the hour-long couples class. (We went over that) When I asked if we could bring another couple along, she was just as excited as we were and happily set up extra wheels for our group.
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The studio is a bright, open space with shelves lined with beautiful works — everything from kids’ projects to more advanced pieces. The pottery wheels were set up in the center, and we sat around while the owner gave us a hands-on lesson in throwing pottery. She guided us through making bowls and vases, patiently helping us every step of the way.
We each made several pieces, and afterward, she walked us through color choices and finishing options. One of the other husbands even got to come back a few days later to carve a design into his work. She offered to add a handle to my husband’s pitcher, too — such a thoughtful touch!
We laughed the entire time and had an absolute blast. It was such a memorable experience, and we can’t wait to see our final glazed pieces soon. We’re already planning our next visit!
Beehive Pottery also offers a great deal at just $15/hour for open wheel time if you want to come in and throw on your own. If you’re looking for a unique and creative date idea, I highly recommend giving them a call. You won’t be...
