America's most expensive yet unfriendly FBO, the OK3 Air is located at this airport. Was unfortunate to take my small piston-engine aircraft there for a few days. The ramp fee alone is $55 per night, when there was no single lineman in sight, after 4 PM. The FBO closed, no tie-down rope, and found a single piece of broken rope less than 2 feet long. And yes, with all that said, additional tie-down fees of $50 for a tie-down that never occurred. Mind you the FBO was also closed and I couldn't use even the bathroom. There was a sign on the door to go the city building outside the airport to use the bathroom in after hours, mind you it is still before 5PM. Went to the city building, had to go really bad, a guy, fortunately was there who let me in. It was snowing the next day so decided to call and switch to indoor hangar, $240 per night. Wait for it, the gas price $8.5 per gallon. I did mention these issues to the older lady at the desk. There were two working, the young one was on her phone, didn't even pause to listen. The older lady just bluntly said- yes everyone complains that we are expensive, we know, but we are ski town and we keep our prices comparative to Aspen!!! I don't understand how is that even a reason to be expensive. Not everyone that lands there is in their private jet to ski as well. Anyway, didn't buy any gas, and paid $645 in total for 4 nights of parking there. Am still waiting for the landing fees to come in the mail. Seriously, OK3 or Heber City whoever has to listen, please...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn August, 2023; $7.90/gal self service fuel, highest in the area by more than a dollar. $100/night tie-down fee for a single engine Cessna and no waiving or reducing this fee for a fuel purchase. Virtually every airport offers this discount. Ridiculous. These are International airport prices. Apparently, they must think because they service folks staying at high end resorts like Park City, they can do this. Otherwise, nothing at all special about this airport.
I see that they have opted out of getting reviews from Airnav, probably because they would mostly be mostly negative. I guess that should tell us all something!
All the earlier positive reviews sound like they haven't even visited here or are locals that don't pay the fees. This airport receives lots of Federal money, so, yes they are obligated by FAA to charge 'reasonable' fee. AOPA went after this place years ago for outrageous prices. Looks like the airport didn't learn...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had flown into Heber for years, but now I use Provo and drive up the canyon. Itās just not worth it to pay DOUBLE for fuel, snd pay their over the top, highest in the nation fees. All the other āpublic useā airports are basically free to use, and then there is Heber Valley Airport. I can get jet-a for 3.90 at bountiful, or pay 9.50 at Heber. More than double. And their 340 dollars in fees, no chance to use a crew car, and less than friendly staff. No marshalingā¦. I saw a review below where someone thought it was cute to give them 5 stars, just because another reviewer complained about the fees. When every other airport doesnāt have these fees and over the top fuel prices, you should complain, to everyone who will listen. I do my level best to spread the word about Heber Valley and their sole FBO (no competition...
