We had LVP flooring installed from this business and the flooring materials themselves are fine. However the installation was a disaster. The installation was originally only supposed to take 2 days. It ended up taking the installation crew four days total and was super frustrating. Our installation was a nightmare. The installation crew left drywall damage in every room. We have dirty handprints and glue all over the walls and major drywall damage in every room they worked in. The cuts they made in the flooring are so sloppy and uneven. We have one area where a gap of flooring is missing. They also broke the cabinet 1/4 round trim when replacing it. And of course they just left it on the floor broken.
We had LVP stair treads installed as well and the first time they installed the stair treads the crew glued them and then put nails where you walk on the treads. So nails were going into your feet as you walk up the stairs. We also have multiple areas of our floor that now squeak and sound awful. These areas did not have issues until the new floors were installed.
Our tv was mounted on the wall and the crew hit the tv with one of the baseboards. The entire screen was broken. The company’s owner (Jason) did buy us a replacement tv after we complained about ours being broken.
We complained about the sloppy installation and multiple issues to Derek and were assured it would be fixed. However we were sent the same incompetent installation crew multiple times. The stair treads were completely ripped off and replaced twice. Our stairs still creak from being improperly installed again for a second time. Our stairs now creak and you can hear the glue popping as you walk on them. The installation crew could not fix them and blamed our builder. Our stairs did not creak or have any issues prior to the floors being installed. The installers also destroyed the trim around the steps and chiseled into them when ripping off the first set of treads they installed. This is a long review but I’m hoping to save someone else the mess we went through. This company sells cheap flooring that aesthetically looks nice. But I would NEVER use this company’s installation crew again. I finally told them to just stop repairs because of all the new issues they caused as they came out to “repair” their mistakes. You definitely get what you pay for. I do appreciate the owner (Jason) at least replacing our tv that was broken by the installers. However with the amount of issues we had I think management should have addressed our issues or at least came out to see the problems. Instead they just sending out the same incompetent installation crew time after time. Don’t use...
Read moreJason was nice and helpful during our visit. They have great prices on flooring materials. But we can only give 3 stars because the communication was poor, we never received an itemized bill, Jason’s cell is the only listed phone number, it took quite some time to get the installation scheduled, different from what we were told, purchased on 7/28 installed on 8/13, and We would never want the lead installer back inside our home. He was rude! First thing he did upon entering our home was use the bathroom without a single word to me! He passed every fast food joint imaginable within a mile of our home that he could have stopped at prior to arriving here. Or at least said one word to me first then we wouldn’t have found it so rude! They got liquid nails on our new door. A place that needed leveling in the kitchen was ignored and now we have a sagging spot there. They also put a small dent in our brand new stainless refrigerator! We had covered what little furniture we left in the house with thin plastic sheeting to protect from dust and dirt while the hardwood and vinyl floors were being torn out...instead they uncovered everything immediately prior to do anything thus covering everything in dirt and dust. 5 days later we are still trying to rid the main floor of all the dust. We couldn’t even sleep the first night because of it. Far worse than anyone could imagine! So pretty sure the new flooring is laying on all that dust too! They over cut one of the HVAC vent openings and we’re still trying to figure a way to fix that..it’s right at our entry door, first thing you see! Lead installer got very rude and insulting when I asked why he uncovered our furniture...he wouldn’t be moving it until AFTER the old floors were out. And they also had their music blaring out of their van the entire time they were here despite only being out there to cut pieces of flooring! Doubtful they could hear it over the saw. Luckily our HOA didn’t contact us about that! But our neighbors had plenty to say. I’d say the products are good. The prices are good. I’d buy the material from them again, but I’d hire my own installers....we had planned to do that but Jason assured us that his crew was top notch and had been with him for 17 years...I’m not so sure the crew we had fits that description. The floors look good for the most part and we’re glad it’s behind us...or will be once all the dirt is finally gone! But when we do the upstairs we will hire our...
Read moreWe got floors installed a few years ago. In the initial consultation, I pointed out there was a small dip in the floor…I was assured it wouldn’t be a problem.
A month after installation, the floor in that area comes up. They come out and only replace that board…it comes up again. We also notice the installation crew left a MESS in our vents…(see pictures).
At this point, we realize it is an issue, and we get our crawl space in that area reinforced, but the floor still has to be leveled.
We also see other issues with the floor in other parts of the house-gaps in a lot of places. I talk to the owner, and let him know how frustrating it is that I was told it wouldn’t be a problem. He accepts no responsibility. I tell him about the gaps in our floor and show him pictures, he tells me just to try to kick it back into place with my foot and basically it wasn’t his problem since it had been a year. I expected my $15,000 investment on my floors would last more than a year …he had absolutely no understanding.
They come out again- the owner tells me they will level that area out and replace the board…but they only replace the ONE board again and don’t level anything….it comes up again.
Fast forward to now, at this point, I get different floor companies involved. The first one doesn’t want to take over the liability because they guarantee their installations, and they said this was a horrible installation job. I go back to Discount Floor Covering and try to call their office to see if I can finally get my floor leveled and repaired… and they ghost me. I contact the owner… Nothing. Finally I get another company to look at it, who validated that the floor should have been leveled initially and that replacing one board is never going to work in that situation.
What makes it even more frustrating is that I pointed it out in the first place This is not an ethical company to work with, and they get super defensive if you ever have issues with the installation. If they would’ve actually taken the time to see the problem area and to fix it, this will be a very different review, but they...
