Update: We went back for lunch a few weeks ago and even though they were out of meatloaf I really enjoyed my Club sandwich and fried Squash!
The Bridge restaurant is the newest thing to hit Hemby Bridge in a long time, we went for dinner tonight and the parking lot is a bit tricky to figure out if you're not familiar with the area and there is a snow cone business in the same building where they have corn hole and other games set up which can be a pain when trying to walk through from your car of course you could walk all the way around the building but that's a hike on gravel in the summer. We had about a 25 minute wait not bad, but they had “live music” and I'm sorry but it was just loud and annoying! When we got inside it is really small, maybe 20 tables if that and hot I don't know of the AC can't keep up with the kitchen and restaurant or if they had a problem it was not comfortable. They have 2 great big doors and the sun beats right through them, especially at the table, we were at I had to wear my sunglasses. The menu is also small They had 4 dinner entrees, some salads and sandwiches 1 page pretty scant. I ordered the special Chicken Marsala with a side salad, my salad had a hair in it which I told the waitress and she did apologize and bring me another one, but by then my meal was out and it looked delicious and it was darn tasty, however it was drenched in sauce that is water like consistency and it ended up being like soup my noodles were floating it was very difficult to eat without making a mess but again it was really yummy. My mom got a burger and fries and my dad got the hamburger steak, which he also said was delish. The service was good everyone was very polite it is extremely noisy so if you are looking for a quiet place to talk this isn't it. Overall it will be a while before I go back again. Maybe I will try breakfast or lunch as they need more time to work out the...
Read moreFirst time here. I wanted to give their Prime Rib a try. My waitress, Emily, was very pleasant, informative, and professional. As my sides, I ordered the House Tossed Salad, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and the Corn Casserole. Emily suggested a dessert. Chocolate Spoon Lovin Cake.
The salad was good. The Ranch dressing was very good. The prime was good, especially given the price. Just under $22. I should have asked for extra Au Jus. It was a tad dry in the middle. That said, the outer portion was very good. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were ok. Could use a bit more garlic and a touch of salt. The Corn Casserole was just ok. I am sure many folks like it. It just wasn't for me. It's too similar to a corn pudding, which I do not care for. The dessert was outstanding. Not to rich. I couldn't finish it. The chocolate cream dollop with a chocolate drizzle really brought it all together. Would definitely get it again.
Overall a very good experience. If i could give 4.7 stars, I would. It is not quite a 5 but did not want to do this place a disservice and give them only 4 stars. It is almost a hidden gem given their location.
The atmosphere was pleasant. I would call this a low-key chop house. I would be very open to going back to try some of the other menu items. They have an extensive ice cream menu. It was obvious that some people came just for the desserts. There are a number of tables outside...
Read moreI've been going here several years. Always satisfied. Not so much last night. I don't care for places that make it sound like food is prepared on site. I ordered ribs and asked if they were good. The server responded that people liked them. Red flag. She should have said they were made on site by a person who knows how to cook them.
I took 2 bites. You can see my reviews, I don't complain unless I have to. They appeared to be bought, reheated, and drowned in sauce. They should have never left the kitchen. The dry meat stuck in my teeth till I got home and flossed it out. It was so dry and stringy that I could hardly swallow it.
Maybe this was a 1 time occurrence. I've smoked ribs for 30 years, so I do know what is good, and I give some room for restaurant prepping. These were not even close to being restaurant quality.
I asked that I don't need to speak to a manager and I didn't need a discount for not eating the bad ribs. I did feel she would do the right thing and remove the charge. She did ask if I wanted something else and offered dessert. But when I'm done, I am done. I ate my fries and some of my Wife's seafood.
So, this was 1 bad experience out of many good experiences I've had at The Bridge. I review a lot of businesses, and I try to be fair. They either need to cook their own or stop...
