Busy Beaver — Local services in Hempfield Township

Convenient, but kinda expensive. Also I was harrased and verbally attacked by another customer in front of the employees when I attempted to retrieve a shopping cart. There were carts in the vicinity of the customers car that obviously had not touched his car that I was attempting to retrieve for stability and shopping since my feet were in extreme pain due to nueropathy from hand foot syndrome from the chemotherapy I'm taking for terminal cancer. The employees didn't call the police, and the customer didn't call the police until things got out of hand and danger was eminent. The police showed up after I forcefully retrieved a cart I grabbed first and was inside shopping. The employees informed me they didn't need video footage my 12 year old daughter recorded cause the police said it was not a crime scene and was between the store and the customer to fix the situation. I assume this was all captured on security cameras in the front of the store. I was in such pain and irritated after looking for the items I needed I didn't stick around to see what the outcome was. Today I returned to shop since I feel much better and asked if I could get some sort of discount for putting up with the situation I was forced into, but got a blatant lie and no offer. I think a one time 10% discount would be a nice offering for what I put up with on their watch, but now know it's all for yourself in their store and you gotta call protection for yourself and definitely don't expect the employees to cover you in any way....

Nice to have a place local to obtain construction supplies from. I did however find their prices to be on the high side for a lot of items which has always been my experience with True Value locations. Perfect example were the cleaning supplies!! Even with Walmart down the road, it was as if they weren't even trying to be competitive!! Now, I did compare the "Tomcat" mouse bait stations, 4 pack, and Beaver was about 0.20$ more than Walmart so not to bad but still more. Now, they did have a good special on batteries and I bought some. Then looked at new toilet seats. I can't talk to the prices as I need to compare with Home Depot and Lowe's but they did have a nice selection. Overall, good for a local run but be very careful on prices as they are not the cheapest in the area. I will also offer the staff was very friendly and...

Was in earlier today and this place is just awful. There were probably 15 people in line waiting with one young girl cashier. She called two other male associates up twice to ask them a question about looking up items. It appeared she was newly hired and could have used some assistance. I honestly felt awful for her. Both male associates also left and didn’t get on register to help her. I also saw the store manager walk by as her line grew and make a B-line towards the back of the store. There is clearly a management problem. No cashier should be abandoned by her team mates and left to the dogs like that.

Not to mention this places prices are crazy. Wish Walmart would of had what I wanted in stock. Had to spend an extra $5 for the same...
