China Gourmet — Restaurant in Hempfield Township

During quarantine I moved to the area and a few times we ordered take out from here. It was always very good and I kept hoping that they would pull through and open fully. Since I always saw a steady stream of people getting carry out when I was getting it there was little doubt this restaurant had dedicated regulars who wanted the same thing. Two weeks ago we noticed they were open inside for the buffet. For 10.00 it was well worth the wait. The selection was impressive and the food was delicious. Large choice of hot dishes, soups are hot and delicious, the dessert section has something for everyone, from.ice cream to fruits ,puddings , pastries and cookies. Hope one day they add Cuban Flan. I know it is not Chinese but in Florida Cuban Flan was always on the menu and it is outrageously delicious. The restaurant and bathrooms are very clean. Staff are pleasant and attentive but not over powering. As this restaurant was quite busy each of the times I have visited they are obviously doing something right. Buffet was just ok. Food was decent. There was like 6 chicken dishes and only 2 beef dishes. I get it, chicken is cheaper. I noticed a lot of waste. The servers were taking a ton of food back to the bus station. Because so many people were taking so much on there plate but not eating it. The staff was very nice! It was $11.99 a person + $1.99 for a drink. The desert selection was very nice. Fresh fruit and all. Big pieces of watermelon!!! We will definitely go back, it's the only China Buffet close...
