It appears that the couple responsible for managing the market may not fully adhere to the rules and guidelines or the city, state, and own rules they set.
If the owners don’t resolve the issue, we will be contacting the city about how the owners use the Hesperia name. An apology at the event would have been accepted. The owners have yet to try and confront the issue or hear feedback.
Vendors that sign up and receive NO printable and NO accessible copy of the contract, rules, policy, or recent changes. My partner never received anything from them.
The Market does NOT contact the vendors by email, text, or communication.
The Market updates its vendors on IG. Not directly. They expect the vendors to view their posts. Like weather closing, wind closing and anything.
They don’t supply the vendors with anything to help the vendors success. No welcome hints, expectations, and tips.
They have a very bitter attitude towards vendors. It seems they are NOT thankful for the vendors they have or had. Example: My partner’s first time vending she only made $15. They had the audacity to ask if that was true because if we made over $400 it is just a little extra. They said this to all the vendors. I would be very surprised if these vendors made $40 each. The traffic flow is very low. Very few people came to that event.
The second event she attended. We found out that the vendors must fight over spots 4-5 hours before the event. No map of the venue and no clear spots marked out for vendors. No pre planning for the vendors, No updates.
No list or directory of vendors that attend anywhere. They just post the same vendor over and over on IG. We were told by vendors they neglect the vendors that are the most loyal. Vendors that have been a vendor for years have never been posted.
This lack of consistency and favoritism towards certain vendors can create a sense of inequality in the community and discouragement for those who are striving to build their small businesses.
Three Vendors were unfairly banned three vendors from the market. This action was accompanied by raised voices and a lack of communication, which left the vendors feeling disheartened and excluded.
I also discovered that three vendors, who arrived at the market before three to four other vendors. Meanwhile, vendors who arrived later were given more visible spots among the bustling crowd.
When the affected vendors sought to address their concerns with Mike 2 hours into the event, the market manager, their requests were met with resistance and dismissal. The vendors were not offered to move into the area that receives the full event traffic.
After the vendors third request. The owners arrived with ' closed body language and the manager's lack of active listening only served to escalate the tension.
In addition, the vendors raised the issue of the early setup time, which requires them to arrive at 5:30 am for an event that starts at 10 am. This information was not available to the vendors.
It is disheartening to note that the vendors who were banned arrived well within the designated time frame, yet they were not given the opportunity to choose favorable spots.
Instead, those spots were allocated to vendors who arrived later, or vendors who never arrived. contradicting the principle of "first come, first served." By implementing a fair and transparent system for assigning spots, the market can foster an atmosphere of equity and encourage vendors to participate enthusiastically.
To get to the heart of the matter lies in the exclusion of these vendors from the main event flow. The owners assumed that their sales were poor without gathering any relevant information.
The vendors merely sought fair treatment and inclusion. We understand that it might have been done by mistake but the attitude was received with a side bitterness led us to think it may be straight up discrimination. It was two Latinx vendors one Latinx LGBTQ+ vendor that was ban.
We believe that someone better suited should have the opportunity to serve Hesperia...

Beautiful day for Hesperia's Farmer's Market. 💙 I'm very thankful that Hespera does these community friendly events! There were a lot of vendors displaying their wares and crafts for sale, a small mobile petting zoo, a DJ playing good tunes, fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and a food truck alley! I opted for a nice selection of the fruits and vegetables. Beautiful huge juicy and sweet strawberries! Cranberry walnut bread. And I just had to get some Jerk chicken, Caribbean BBQ chicken, rice w/red beans, potato salad, and he topped it off with a couple slices of the plantains from the Reggae Kitchen. 🤤😋💚💙❤️💛 Great customer service, very knowledgeable and friendly. Sooo delicious. Tender juicy and flavorful!...
