Really terrible compared to social services in Navada, and thatâs saying something. Itâs really slow and requires many more steps that make it difficult to obtain any sort of assistance. When I applied for welfare I was told by some lady that I should âactâ like an adult and didnât need my hand held. I was quiet the entire time. My mother-in-law was there assisting me and filling out my paper work. I am diagnosed by multiple professionals, including doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, etc. as having Autism, ADD, and agoraphobia, PTSD, and many more ailments. I am legally recognized as disabled by federal government. Yes I am slow, yes I do need things repeated and explained a few times because I just canât understand, so I need assistance from a functioning adult. How is someone who works in social services not aware that an alarming portion of people, who apply for some form of welfare, suffer from some sort of mental disorder ranging from minor to severe? Have some empathy, please fire anyone who thinks every person who applies is just trying to âscamâ the system. Thatâs an extremely toxic thought process and does not belong in a profession/workplace that is meant to be understanding of others situations and...
Read moreI was very pleasantly surprised. I had transferred my EBT card to this office. I don't have a car so we walked and they close at 430 but to sign in n whatnot cutoff is 415. We were told this when we walked in at 422. At first they said we'd have to return the next day but then she saw how sweaty we were and asked if we had walked n when she learned this she offered to call the relevant department to see if we could slide in. They allowed us to. Then at the kiosk we had a similar interaction being told it was passed cutoff at which time I informed her that front desk called n received the green light. She walked over to front n confirmed this. Upon walking back she asked me if I was ok due to my red face and sweating n still catching my breath. When she learned we walked she was even more understanding about the whole thing and after 10 mins or so they called my number, guy in the back was very polite, got me in n out n even apologized for my wait. Overall it was a refreshingly compassionate and helpful visit in which I completed the business I came for fast n easily. Thank you to...
Read more(Honest Review) Do not do phone appointments they forget to call. The security are good people, the staff at kiosk are not the best they donât seem to communicate well with other workers enough to answer any questions. They only point you at the kiosk and punch your number in for you after they ask you for it. The case workers are very slow at this office but are very polite and helpful once you do get an appointment. I was homeless and qualified for expedited assistance to have the case handled within 3 days. It took 12 days and 3 trips to the county office. Average wait time 2 and a half hours sometimes more if they make you get in line a...
