The stores security guard was extremely rude. I had a mask on covering me mouth as best as I could and as needed pulled it away from my mouth every so often to get a full breath because I have asthma. But kept it over my mouth the rest of the time. The security guard said you need to have a mask on. I thought he can't possibly be talking to me I have one on. He said it again from 2 isles away, walking away from my direction, and I still could not even tell who he was talking to. He then said if you dont put the mask on over your nose you need to leave the store. At that point I knew he was talking to me. I let him know I have a medical condition, asthma (even though I did not need to tell him my medical issue) and that I am wearing it the best I can. Him and another worker in the store begins to tell me I can breath fine with a mask on despite my medical condition. The other guy said he has a lung related issue and he is fine. I processed to tell him he is not me and just because he can wear one without issue, doesn't mean I can. The other intial security guard then yells up to the front of the store "she's throwing a fit" to the clerk's! I informed him there is exceptions to the mask requirements and he repeatedly told me no you have to leave if you wont wear it over your nose, and kept saying there is no evidence of people with asthma having a restricted oxygen level while wearing a mask. I will never shop at this store again because of this guy. My family used to shop here all the time til we moved out of state and was excited when we moved back to be able to shop there again. But apparently a lot has changed there since we have been gone. As a believer in Christ we always loved shopping in a place with like views as our family. Uplifting music, etc. And today it didn't represent a christian organization at all, besides it's music. Like I said I will never shop there again. Today I was discriminated against, while trying to comply the best I could, and belittled for it....
ย ย ย Read moreHi there, I am a regular thrift shopper and I have been going to the Rescue Mission Thrift store in my town of Hesperia, CA for years now and have always like it for the most part. However, I am getting quite upset because they are writing with markers on the tags of all of the garments!! Writing with permanent marker on the labels and tags devalues the clothing and it often times ruins the garments. The marker will bleed through the tag and onto the item, or those using the markers to label the clothing will slip and write on the actual clothing. I even purchased a doll which had a price marked on its forehead, I went home and removed it to find that the permanent marker bleed through the paper and onto the vinyl dollโs head- these marker stains cannot be removed. We have been taught (and are still teaching as far as Iโm concerned) not to write on property and items. We have been taught this ever since we have been children- so why are they doing it to items they are trying sell!!? Please make sure this practice stops immediately or you will continue to hear for me as well as many of my connections throughout my community and you will loose business drastically because we are going to boycott this thrift store. This is vandalization! I look forward to seeing these changes and I would like to hear back from you...
ย ย ย Read moreWhat on earth happened?! I used to rave about this place!!! This used to be my favorite place to find some great deals and finds. So much has changed here in the past few months of me going here. I used to enjoy worshiping to Air 1 Christian music as I browsed amazing deals. Now the selections are mediocre and more like Triple Handed and even if it is a higher end brand or new with tags, it is kept within its original retail discount/clearance prices. Many items are priced VERY high (Had a used Patagonia sweater marked for 49.99-yikes!) They no longer offer or accept their punch card discount where if you spend 100 dollars you get 25% off your next total. Also, 25% Off Wednesdayโs now are ONLY until 2:00pm, not all day. This has changed from a great value thrift store to a triple hand me down boutique. Very sad. I noticed the Salvation Army down the street got a remodel and they have waaaay better deals. Looks like Iโll be dedicating my thrifting outings solely to other thrift stores. Good luck on your knew arrangement Super...
