United Super IGA Hewitt TX — Local services in Hewitt

This Super has an cool old-school feel to it, and I feel like it would be a great location to film a zombie or slasher film (lol). Now after that digression, this store is in a convenient location to those residents that do not feel like traveling far from home to somewhere like HEB or Walmart where you have to walk a mile to grab milk and then wait in line for 30 minutes.

You do pay slightly more for the convenience and because it is a small business, but I think the price increases are negligible. They usually have exactly what I need, even if it is a substitute. The staff is friendly and there is always great parking.

I would recommend this store to anyone that needs to grab something quickly or that does not want to tackle the stress involved in shopping at big box stores.

We bought oil from here to fry a turkey for thanksgiving and ended up buying to much. So my husband went to return the unopened oil and the employee and manager were extremely rude. Making unnecessary and not asked for comments about my husband's tattoos, what we spend our money on, and why we feel the need to return the oil. She had the most disgusted look on her face during the whole interaction. We were not rude to her at all, so there was no reason for her to talk to him that way. It's a small store, that should of died out years ago. IGA is old-fashioned and expensive. The employees are rude, judgmental, and lack any sort of basic human decency or manners. I don't think I have ever had a pleasant interaction with any of the older staff up there. Do yourself a favor and go to Walmart or Heb, where the employees are helpful and will...

It's okay they have some stuff I mean it's still cheaper to go to Walmart and only a minute away but if you're feeling lazy and just want to run in. Seems like the produce is always kind of all maybe old or spotted or bruises all on everything. Sometimes they have good sales on bacon but it's not the best quality. most of the prices are a little bit higher than what you pay at Walmart sometimes quite a bit.
