Sorry this is long!
Ever since living in the mountains for 5 years, where walmart was the closest "grocery store," I was convinced Great Value items were the cheapest you could get. Over Christmas, walmart was out of eggnog, so I went to Aldi for the first time ever and they had it. Not only that, but it was cheaper! My next visit to Aldi for grocery shopping, I price checked everything I needed with the walmart app and just about everything was cheaper! Except for cheese lol. I now go to Aldi everytime I need groceries! The employees are nice and I'm forced to bring my own reusable bags which I needed to do anyways for the environment! (Don't get me wrong, the plastic bags elsewhere are free bathroom trashbags.) The only drawback is they don't have the big bags of cereal (I eat cereal every morning). They also run out of soymilk kind of frequently, which I exclusively drink since it's a lot better for the environment than dairy milk and Almond milk. Oat milk is the best, but even being cheaper than walmart, it's still quite a lot for my wallet haha. Also, many credit cards will give up to 5% cashback for "grocery stores." Aldi is specifically a grocery store, whereas walmart is not!
All in all, Aldi is my new favorite place for groceries! The carts are really fun too since you get your...
Read moreCan we all agree that at night it's cold outside?! Well seeing as how I dressed accordingly especially since I work outside where it's not all warm and toasty sitting at a cash register that calls for being stopped and searched which I agreed just because I noticed right off that a certain cashier was watching me, kinda hard not to notice when they break their neck ya know. Anywho I took my coveralls off and opened up my coat for her as I was walking out the door, but not before I ever once broke eye contact with her nor did I even remotely act suspicious. I acted like a woman trying on some waterproof winter boots though...I wonder how happy she is that she let the real thief walk out because she was too fixated on what I was wearing! She probably didn't even notice that they shoved something in their waste right in front of us. Shame on her and I liked Aldi's until today. This is the 1st and last time I'll be profiled because of what I'm wearing...
Read moreWell organized, always clean, friendly staff, and prices on high quality items. It is no wonder this store does so well. They stock the things they can move, so the inventory is fresh. Aldi is from 2 German Brothers when they took over their mothers store in 1946. They split into two companies in 1960, Aldi North and Aldi south. Here, in America, Aldi North owns Trader Joe's, where Aldi South owns Aldi. The brothers split the company because of a dispute over whether selling cigarettes in their stores would attract shoplifters. All according to Wikipedia. There are nearly 2,000 Aldi stores in the US alone. Aldi has a reputation, in the US, of paying significantly higher than minimum wage. This probably has something to do with why the staff is so friendly. It's almost as though they are happy to be at work. Yet another place that is improving themselves, establishing good practices, and aiming higher in order to be...
