We’ve been to this shop a few times and usually had very good experiences. Also we usually love trying to support local business instead of big chain companies… However today’s experience totally sucked to be honest. We came in to buy a goldfish. We’ve bought three goldfish from here before. To start, the employee didn’t greet us, seemed annoyed when asked about the fish, and admitted she didn’t know much about them then also said she won’t catch the smaller fish because it’s too hard… We picked a goldfish similar (same size and colors) to the one we bought in July for $10.99, but the tank pricing didn’t have an extract price matching description for the goldfish we picked. Instead of trying to figure out what to do herself the employee called the owner, Hope, who said it was $14.99 (that price was not listed on the tank for anything). When we mentioned the price July, Hope dismissed it, said she should charge $19.99 because it was a large fish from that tank but it was a normal/medium sized goldfish as there were fish much larger in the tank. Only things listed on that tank for $19.99 were XL fish. When we tried to explain our situation Hope argued that “it doesn’t matter that the price isn’t on the tank and you are only mad because we’re not getting what we want.” Just wow… terrible customer service skills from a business owner… Honestly I feel it’s a little silly to be writing a review about this as it was just over $4. But really it wasn’t about the $4; it was about the rude, dismissive attitude from both the employee and the owner. For that reason, we won’t be back, and I would never recommend anyone...

Wonderful staff and great selection of all kinds of great foods, treats and toys. Amwell Pet adopts out rescue cats and kittens from Capic Cats and they were all in 3 tier cages and well kept. We adopted our cats here and find we could not get better service anywhere. UPDATE unfortunately I read a nasty 1 star review about goldfish. I actually went in the store and talked to the owner about this. She said her employee had to call her at home that day because the man was so rude. Arguing about the price of the fish. She said his ranting was unbelievable because he did not get his way. The owner explained to him selling him the fish was a bargain at $14.99 which Hope told him by phone. He did not have to buy the fish if that unhappy. He kept arguing he bought the same fish before. . Not true. But obviously he did buy the new one for $14,99. And his facts WERE WRONG. The fish was not the same as his others as this was an XL not the same as other fish hence the higher price. The owner said if he acted so poorly as he did on phone in the store she is fine with him not coming back. She said we promote kindness, not nastiness and this man was nasty to both the owner and employee. Which was totally uncalled for. And she also said tanks have fish prices which I saw. So the review is untrue and missing the part that the buyer was very nasty to the store owner and employee because he did not...

It's rare to find a pet store that truly cares about animals and even more rare to receive outstanding customer support and knowledge about all purchases . This is not just a pet store with a heart they truly have quality well cared for pets in excellent health, products to keep each healthy and happy and always willing to provide advice and support. No customer is too small you will always receive outstanding support. This is the reason I will always go out of my way to come here, the extra miles is always worth the travel.

If you are looking for a small pet ( rabbit, guinea pig, fish, etc), fish or to adopt a pet, this is the only place I would highly recommend. Even their beta fish are a step above the rest.
