9 out of 10.
I write this as an Indian fella who grew up in the UK and have eaten at hundreds of Indian restaurants. I’d have to rate this as in my top 5 Indian restaurants. Really excellent flavors; nothing I ordered was bad….quite the opposite…everything was excellent. I’d maybe add one or two options if the management would consider it (see below) but a solid 9 out of 10. Would highly recommend, glad this restaurant is so close by and hope they can maintain their standards.
Ordered take out; chicken tikka masala, Tarang chicken, chicken Tarang biriyani, vegetable Hakka noodles, plain naan and garlic naan. All of the dishes were excellent; good flavors and can tell from the way it’s cooked that these are real spices blended in house and not full of artificial dyes. The chicken tikka masala was not a fluorescent red but more of a yellowish red and the cardamom was very aromatic. The Tarang chicken was new to me - liked it a lot. I’d love if the restaurant would give the option to buy chicken breast meat for the curry as opposed to thigh meat (I wrote this in but seems they didn’t see it…:no option but fingers crossed they do do this going forward. The biriyani was excellent and one of the better ones I’ve had in the last five years. The Hakka noodles were also good.
In terms of improving, I wish this (and other) restaurants would give diners the option to substitute breast meat instead of thigh meat. I think diners would like that option and I would have liked it for my chicken Tarang and even wrote it into the order but it was neglected; I’d have been happy to pay a little more for the option too! The decor inside is very nice and seems like a nice place; I’d suggest that they have slightly softer lighting for the diners so it’s a bit darker as opposed to being so bright….maybe the odd plant or two as well. Overall happy this is nearby and will be eating here again. Recommend this and with one or two small tweaks work...
Read moreI recently visited Tarang Indian Restaurant and honestly, it was such a great experience from start to finish. The place has a warm, inviting vibe and the staff greeted us with a smile right away.
We decided to try a couple of dishes from the menu, mostly non-veg, and every single one hit the mark.
The Tandoori Chicken was the first thing that arrived—it was smoky, juicy, and packed with flavor. You could tell it came straight from the tandoor. The Butter Chicken was creamy, rich, and just the right amount of spice. I could’ve eaten it with a spoon, but their soft naan made it even better. Then came the Lamb Curry & Garlic Naan —wow. The lamb was so tender it just melted, and the gravy had layers of spices that made every bite taste amazing.
We also tried the Fish Tikka, which was cooked perfectly. The outside had that lovely charred taste, while the inside stayed flaky and flavorful.
What really added to the whole experience was the service. The staff were quick to help, always checked in at the right time, and genuinely seemed to care about how our meal was going. There was no rush, no delays—just a smooth, relaxed evening with great food and great people.
Never miss the dessert, Rasmalai was so soft and ultimate. By the end, we were full but happy, already planning what to try on our next visit.

Read moreFrom the moment you step through the doors, you’re welcomed not just as a guest but as family. The warm aroma of freshly ground spices, the faint sizzle from the tandoor, and the glow of saffron-colored lights promise something special—and this restaurant delivers beyond every expectation.
Each dish feels like it has a story. The butter chicken is velvety perfection, balancing richness and spice like a symphony; the biryani, fragrant with saffron and cardamom, is layered with flavor in a way that makes you pause between bites just to appreciate it. Even the naan is unforgettable: pillowy, blistered just right, and brushed with enough butter to make you believe carbs are a form of love.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the care. The servers anticipate what you need before you ask, explaining dishes with pride and genuine enthusiasm. You can taste that same pride in the cooking—it’s food made with devotion.
Dining here isn’t just eating out; it’s being transported. It’s the closest you can get to a journey through India without leaving your table. If excellence had a flavor, it would taste exactly like this. My family loved this, and we are making this a weekly trip. The hakka noodles and malai kofta...
