I'll start off with that our DJ was a nice guy... that being said we did not pay for just a nice guy. So here is my honest review, I have to start off taking away 2 stars, bc only a perfect night deserves a 5 star review. And my only issues with my wedding day when i look back was the entertainment.
We spent upwards of an hour on the phone each session to disscuss the wedding, but he talked mostly about other peoples weddings and his own more than mine. Maybe thats why on my wedding day he played all the wrong songs for the entrance to my reception.
Which any other bride would tear someone a new one for... but i wanted to enjoy my day, so all i wanted was for the DJ to stop bothering me as he tried to blame his mistake on his equiptment.
I also dont appreciate that when i gave him a list of songs compiled from my guests (which i told him about before) he insisted on playing his songs that were "similar". But to not play the songs from the list i gave AND also to say no to my guests song requests without discussing it with me is ballsy.
He also made my husband feel pretty uncomfortable through our already awkward cake cutting, and while he played all the good dancing songs i wanted, its almost as if he made sure to wait till i was pulled off to take photos to play them all. He also seemed a bit too distracted by trying to play photographer himself, and i noticed way too many songs played that cleared the dance floor. And not at one of the "times" we'd discussed to clear it like dinner. Like prime dane floor use time.
He wasnt all bad bc some of the games were fun, but lucky my guests are none the wiser and had a good time just being with me. For those invovled in the planning we were not overall pleased by what we got which just felt like we planned nothing at all to me. With how much time we spent on the phone and the effort i actually put into picking and compiling songs for him, he made it harder on himself to not just take what i gave him. But my mistake to think that bc we are paying him for this that he should be doing what we say. I guess my next wedding.. haha... i have to be a more aggressive bride to get what i want and not what people THINK I want.
Wish i could have all good things to say, but when your job is just to play music and you dont listen to the bride 🤷♀️.. so to sum it up:
spent too much time talking about NOT the bride at hand. played all wrong reception intro songs, blamed equipment. Chose not to just play from my assorted list of songs. Took it upon himself to tell my guests no to their song requests. Just overall felt kind of frantic and lost the whole time.
Would not and will not recommend. Was lucky i wasnt a bridezilla day of, he should slow down and take more care in what he does considering its "such an important day" as he kept spouting, then take your time and NOT schedule back to back weddings if you cant avoid...

Read moreWe were very pleased with Lou and SOUNDfx Entertainment Disc Jockeys. Our wedding was supposed to be held at a winery in July of 2020 and, unfortunately Covid scuttled that plan. We had everything ready to go and then had to contact Lou to move our date. Even though we were moving it a full year into the future, he was accommodating and rescheduled us for out new date although we were not sure if the same venue would be available as they could not commit.
We wound up booking an outdoor pavilion by a lake in a local park and switching from a wedding proper to a wedding celebration picnic. As the day approached, Lou met us at the pavilion to go over logistics. We shared a list of must have songs and went over both the ceremony music and the celebration music.
Our day was beautiful, made better by the music, which included our must haves and then Lou's choices to fit in with the vibe of the party. His personality came through during the event and our dance floor was frequently full and everyone had a great time.
I would recommend SOUNDfx Entertainment without...
