I use to live in Hillsborough until April of this year. So I would go to this theater all the time. Well yesterday Dec 10,2021, I I came back with my daughter to see the movie West Side Story 2021! The movie was great. The theater was not. From the moment we got there, we were left unhappy. The girl who took our money for tickets was so rude! We couldn’t believe it. When asked a question she was down right nasty! It’s very sad in a business that is not doing well, because of the streaming companies. They seriously should see about the kids they have working for them. Even the popcorn girl was not pleasant. They both acted like it was a bother to even wait on us. The theater was empty, I know it was an early show so it doesn’t draw a big crowd. It’s not like they were so busy that they couldn’t handle it. There was six people in that’s show. I think the theater needs to give these girls more training. If they can’t be really nice to the customers, maybe they need to find a new job. It was so bad that I won’t be back to this theater! Another problem the theater we were in VIP was freezing. I guess no heat was used that day. We were as cold as I’ve the whole time. If it wasn’t that we really want to see this movie we would have left. It was colder inside then outside in December. You really need to fix these issues, I am sure we were not the only ones that were unhappy. This place was a staple in Hillsborough. I hope it comes back with people who like their jobs. I am sure there are other people you can get to work for you, that would be happy they have a job and treat people with respect. These girls were terrible. I try to only give good reviews. I couldn’t over look their behavior. Something needs to change or you may not have a business. ...
Read moreI would have given this place a higher rating before my visit today. Unfortunately there seems to have been a dip in both quality and service. While we were attempting to view the movie that started at 8 45, the trailers (of which there were only 5) went until 9 10. This is because the trailers were each preceded by long 2 minute stretches of dark space each. While this was unfortunate we expected this to be fixed by the time the second or third trailer came around. But there was an additional 4 and a half minute wait after the last trailer and before the movie. This means we spent almost 15 minutes watching a black screen before the movie. This unfortunately soured the experience quite a bit. I have visited Hillsborough cinemas multiple times before and that is the reason for a lack of lower rating. But this experience was quite...
Read moreThe first thing you have to keep in mind is that this is a locally owned theater, not part of a big chain. So it isn't flashy and sometimes even seems a little dingy. Except for the bathrooms. I don't think I've ever seen such well maintained bathrooms in a movie theater.
For the most part, the staff is friendly, in your typical teenagers-that-don't-really-want-to-work kind of way. They don't usually go out of their way to be helpful, but they are not nasty or anything like that.
That being said, it really is a great place with a family friendly atmosphere. The theaters are comfortable with great visual and audio systems. The reclining seats in some of the theaters are fantastic! And we love being able to pick out seats and pre-order...
