Dollar General Market — Local services in Hillview

My 4 year old son had a fever and upset stomach that didn't come through until 9:30pm last night. I googled open stores near me and this store was the closest and it showed the closing time as 11pm on Saturday nights. So I get there and it's a around 9:45-9:50pm and I see a worker standing by the doors inside and opening them as customers were leaving and then closing and locking them once customers are out. I get half-way to the doors and the woman just cracks the door open and yells "We're closed!", then shuts and lo ka the doors once again. I ended up having to go to Walmart, so what should have been 3 minutes at the dollar market turned into one hour at Walmart, which also meant that my son had to go another hour without medicine.

It's not an issue for the store to close at 10pm, the issue is the website claiming they're open til 11pm. And then locking customers out of the store 15 or so minute closes before the workers say it closes. If the store is actually supposed to stay open to 11pm then please sharethat informationwith the workers, if the store doesn't stay open until 11pm, then please be a decent human being and change the website to save the...

Update: The Popshelf piece of this has separated into it's own location nearby, but this DG is still solid with it's inventory, is ALWAYS organized and clean! Never crowded aisle ways. Still the best one I've been to by far. Staff have expanded and are still pleasant as always.

I LOVE this store! It's always clean and organized, the aisles are never crowded with merchandise to be put out and even when they are restocking its doesn't block everything. The store is spacious and is a perfect blend of the two stores in design, modern with Popshelf and also classic DG which is familiar, and I like that they did both so those new to Popshelf still can easily identify the DG parts. Decent and expensive grocery selection too! Truly a one stop shop for groceries, household items/decor, arts and crafts, party supplies, toys, beauty needs, baby needs, home/auto repair/care, medicine, pet needs, and more! The staff here are friendly and very helpful. Really pleased and lucky that this is so close by! Definitely a gem on this...

While this would not be my "go to" store, it is a decent place. It was recently remodeled with the market's new color scheme and it is very clean and neat. (Of course, it was clean and neat before the remodel as well.)

This new breed of Dollar General "Market" stores is like a Dollar Store plus a Save A Lot. Watch prices carefully, though. Some are a great value and some are not. If you shopped here regularly, you may come out ahead, but only slightly.

This is one of those places that would be great if it were within walking distance. If you have to drive here, I'd probably pass this place up and go to Kroger or Target for a routine shopping trip. If you do happen to be close by, it's an excellent place to run in and quickly grab...
