Friday August 29, 2025 approximately 7:30 pm Sat in the bar because there was no wait Received chips and salsa quickly Had to ask for drinks Had to ask for menus Had to ask for silverware $4.00 for ice tea never received or was offered a refill Chips never received or was offered a refill Food Good Server (Fani was on shirt never told us who she was and that she would be our server) never asked if everything was ok or if we needed something else Gentleman that brought our food was very nice and friendly Had to ask for a to go box Had to ask for bill After working a long day, the purpose of going out to eat is to be relaxed and enjoy dinner without cooking or having to clean up. We took our son LeRoy here for his birthday, and Veronica’s Mexican Restaurant went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. The staff surprised him with a lively birthday song and a delicious dessert, which made the night extra special. Every dish we ordered was packed with authentic flavor—from the Birria platter to the fresh, cheesy birria balls—and the portions were generous.

What stood out the most was the excellent service from our server, who was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. They anticipated our needs, kept drinks full, and made great menu suggestions that did not disappoint. The warm hospitality, combined with amazing food, sets this place apart from any other Mexican restaurant in Louisville.

We were there 2 days after the Hillview opening. We waited outside for 45 min in the very hot weather, you can't wait inside because of the way the entry is set up. Very poor design. We had to ask several times where we were on the list. After about an hour and a half we got seated (only 5 of us). We got chips and salsa very quickly but no waiter and no drinks for probably 15 minutes. We tried to order frozen margaritas, which were on the menu and the waiter said they did not have them "right now" whatever that meant. Definitely a language barrier. The air conditioning was BARELY working if at all. The bathroom was as hot as FIRE. Our waiter got lost, food took an hour to get to us, it was mediocre at best. I realize they just opened this location but if you aren't at your BEST when first opening, when are you???? Very slow service, mediocre food and no air conditioning means I will likely not be back.
