I ordered a fish "box" for 2 and an order of mushrooms in the drive-thru at the Hillview Moby Dick that cost me almost $30. Previously, at every Moby Dick I've ever been to, they would ask what sauces you might want so they can have them ready with the food and already in the bag when they hand you your food. They've always done this. This time nobody asked and so I thought it was just and oversight and that I would request what I wanted when I pulled up to the window. Little did I know if was a foreshadowing of things to come. I don't mind waiting a while if I know the food is being freshly prepared so I waited ... and waited. Finally I get my food and I ask for cocktail sauce. She tells me there's already tartar sauce in the bag and hesitates as if that is the same thing . There's a long beat where we just stare at each other, then the lady tells me to hold on and goes to get the cocktail sauce. I wait and wait some more. I'm thinking ... "What is taking so long for some cocktail sauce?!" ...when she finally comes back and obviously with reluctance and for whatever reason- begrudgingly- hands me one tiny container of cocktail sauce. I was like REALLY??. I started to ask for more then said "Screw it. Nevermind" and left. I'd been waiting a long time already and I was tired and ready to get home. So...I get home and the bag that this person had handed to me in an upright position, has two trays stuffed into it vertically so I lay the bag over and pull out the food. In one tray is soggy, undercooked pale fish that is stuck together it's so wet and undercooked. In the other tray is 4 large pieces of bread filling the entire tray with a few soggy, half raw fries and a couple of onion rings stuffed into the end of the tray and on top of the bread as if to make it look like plenty. It was not. (I had asked for a split order of fries and rings). Mind you, this is supposed to be enough for 2 people. Uh, no. The fries were completely soggy, pale, undercooked and grease soaked. The breading on the onion rings was almost white it was so undercooked and disgusting. To add insult to injury, this meal was not cheap. I paid $28 bucks and some change for a meal that was inedible. I wasn't able to drive all the way back to complain so I'm leaving this review. Oh and guess what?! No sauce at all in the bag. NONE. I guess it didn't matter since the food was inedible anyway but it's just unbelievable. This particular store has always been hit or miss and shame on me for giving it another try. On a visit several months ago I'll never forget them telling me they were out of mushrooms... When I asked for another fried veggie- they were out of that too...and then I found out they were pretty much out of everything. On that visit the guy waiting on me (or rather NOT waiting) on me was too busy flirting and laughing with another female employee to bother paying me any mind. I finally left without ordering anything because everything I requested they were "out of." I love Moby Dick's food if it's prepared right but my advice is to either drive to Shepherdsville or go to the Okolona location if you want some because this store is AWFUL. Obviously it is poorly managed and on top of underdone food and poor service, someone must have gotten the bright idea to cut costs by using pieces of bread to fill their serving trays instead of the sides you order then pay for. WOW. I would not have minded paying the almost $30 they charged if I had received the good food I've come to expect from Moby Dick. As it was, I was completely ripped off and extremely displeased with every aspect. I won't be returning to this...
Read moreOrdered two fish sandwiches - asked for tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Checked the bag before pulling away to make sure our order was correct. Unfortunately, it wasn't, they forgot the tartar sauce. Requested the tartar sauce and was told if we give you tartar sauce, you have to give back the cocktail sauce or we have to charge you for extra sauces. This is absurd and absolutely unacceptable. I paid $23.93 for two fish sandwiches, and you want to charge me even more for condiments. Never again will I visit this business, I will gladly drive an additional three miles to another Moby Dick location to avoid this type of customer service. When did we become a society of businesses treating their patrons like they are doing you a favor instead of appreciating...
Read moreFish is great so is fried cauliflower but this location has a hard time getting it all together. I waited 15 minutes in the Drive Thru to get thru and then start my order when I got to the window. Then they had me pull onto a parking spot and said it would be 2-3 minutes. I waited for 7 minutes and right as I was about to go inside for my meal, the girl from the driver thru window brought it out. When I got ready to eat it, no ketchup or tartar. Ugh!! I have tried this location a few times and every time it’s something. This will probably be my last visit to this location. However, I do love my Moby Dick so I will just have to go to the one...
