Stone Mill Pizza is by far my favorite pizza shop in Delaware. The wood fired stove that they cook most things in makes the flavor of food at Stone Mill like no other. The pizza selections they come up with are so beyond creative that any person would be like… wow I never thought to put that on pizza but damn is it good! Their pizza is some of the best, but don’t get me started on the fries, lemon pepper wings, or cheesesteak. These are some of the best things i’ve ever eaten. Pricing is reasonable too, somethings are a little costly HOWEVER, it’s worth it
The atmosphere in Stone Mill is awesome too. The owners, Danny and Tyler are some of the most down to earth people you’ll ever meet, and when I go in it’s never just eat and leave. They always make an effort to make conversation with people and make the restaurant feel home like.
The ONLY downside I can think of why someone wouldn’t like this place is the dislike of Wood Fired or “burned” pizza. I personally am not a huge fan of burned things, but unlike other places Stone Mill does not char the bottom of the pizza. The crust and some air bubbles in the pizza do come out black, but you really can’t taste it. If you do not like burned pizza, I still suggest you try Stone Mill at least ONCE and if you don’t like it, well every pot has it’s lid and I can’t argue with your personal preferences.

Read moreAs a pizza connoisseur with 17 years living in NYC and multiple trips to Italy, I can tell you with great certainty that this is the finest pizza in Hockessin- possibly Northern Delaware. Wow. Very impressed! Crust has an incredible consistency— crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with a bit of char around the edges. And the sauce! Bo joke. Neapolitan pie is my jam and these joints rock! 🍕 🎸🤟🏽. Wings are also exceptional. Whomever thinks that they have the best wings in Hockessin may need to rethink strategy, because these wings are stellar. Always up for a good dry rub, but their buffalo sauce is also nice. Danny and the staff are super kind and personable! (And not just saying that because my name is Danny! 😉)
Moved to Delaware five months ago— not sure why it took me so long to stop in, except that pizzerias are a-dime-a-dozen so I’m usually not in a big hurry to try some random pizzeria. however, I recommend you hurry in and grab some pizza and wings and I’m stoked to try whatever else they might be firing up. Read moreI wish I could give this place 10 stars. Look no further if you’re in DE/PA and craving pizza or a cheesesteak, as this was hands down the best one I’ve ever had. The passion Danny and the entire crew have for their craft is noticeable from the second you walk inside. This place is truly special, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the property value of homes in the area increases as a result of their proximity to this gem!
They have a rotating seasonal menu featuring different pies and sandwiches, and unique slices on the counter every day. Building your own pie is an option as well, and they also offer vegan options. There truly is something for everyone here. It keeps me coming back and Stone Mill hits every time. This place is so good that it made me leave my first ever Google review....
