Parking was easy, strip mall, plenty of places to park. This place is pretty big, at least 15 tables, and a bar. The also have a window outside that you can order from. We came in after lunch and were the only customers in there. We sat a table in the middle of the place. The decor was aesthetically pleasing, and clean. We were greeted quickly when we came in. Service was excellent throughout our experience. We got everything we needed in a timely manner.
We ordered Margaritas...they were solid with only a hint of tart. Much better than most house Margs. I didn't really explore the bar, but it looked like they had a full bar with a decent tequila selection.
Chips & Salsa!!!! Chips....crispy, salted to perfection, solid chip. Salsa...red was soso, kinda had a ketchupy taste. Green tomatillo salsa was also soso and quite salty. The other green salsa was by far my favorite. It had a fresh citrus taste with a little heat behind it.
I ordered Tamale: – $2.00 Each Traditional Mexican tamale. Chicken (Green auce)Pork (Red sauce). I got the pork, they didn't have chicken. I tried to get both lol. The tamale was huuuge, almost dry but not. One of the better tamales I've had on this journey. Excellent when dipped in the sour cream.
I oredered Torta/Mexican Sandwich: – $8.00 Mexican roll, filled with mayo, beans, your choice of meat, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and jalapeño peppers. I chose the grilled chicken. Torta was good, not my favorite, but I'd say a solid mid range offering. The best I've had from this restaurant group, was Casa Mariachi. The chicken was moist and flavorful. I just wish they loaded more in there. Where's the Chicken???
I ordered Our Famous Tacos: – $2.00 Each Soft corn tortilla with your choice of meat garnished with onion and cilantro. All orders come with roasted serrano pepper, Mexican scallions, and lime. I chose carnitas, pastor, chorizo, cabeza, and lengua. Carnitas...a little on the dry side. I used some salsa to fix that. Pastor...good flavorful taco, loaded with meat and had pineapple chunks. Chorizo...no char, strong cinnamon flavor that I'm not into. Cabeza...buttery, melt in your mouth goodness. Exactly what I expect out of the head meat. Lengua...this was also a home run. Seasoned to perfection, melt in your mouth excellence. Tortillas were good, small, but loaded with meat.
Mah ordered Chimichanga: Fried flour tortilla filled with your choice of chicken, ground beef or cheese. Served with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, and avocado. She wasn't a fan. It was filled with rice, cheese, and low on the chicken. She said she guessed that chicken was in there. I tried it later, found the chicken, but was also...
Read moreDo not and I repeat do not go to this restaurant. On 12/28/19 we went when there were only a few tables that were seated. We waited over 50 minutes for our food only to be told repeatedly that it was coming. Despite the fact that the tables that came after us were served before us and yes, we did notice. Our waitress did not check on us for over 15 minutes and yes we timed it. Close to an hour after we arrived we left leaving money for our drinks and a tip However when I called to tell them about the service I was told that the manager was too busy to talk and that if we were there we should’ve realized how busy they were. I was also told that we could have left the restaurant and gone to the walk up window to get our food. “ don’t you know we have a take out window “ and then told “ i told you five times we are too busy” I also heard the conversations between the girl Who answered the phone and the manager and needless to say I am shocked by what I heard. They could care less about customer service and were rude despite the fact they clearly forgot our order. The fact that that they are so comfortable in talking to their customers in a demeaning and non caring manner tells you all you...
Read moreI’m actually disgusted with Rivera. Today me and my coworkers got 5 orders of tacos to find ROACH LEGS in not only one but THREE of the orders. I opened up my steak tacos to find a whole roach leg in there and was so shocked everyone else around me stopped eating. We started to go through the other tacos and my two other co workers also found prices of roach legs in their tacos. After one being disgusting enough I couldn’t believe that they were also in two other orders. Who knows if my other coworker (who had to eat her tacos fast to get back to work) ate bugs too?? The thought of that made her obviously uneasy. We immediately called Rivera to let them know there were literal bugs in all our food and we wanted a refund. My coworkers said when they got there for the refund, they brushed it off like it was a little mistake and told them it was “bug seasoning” that they sometimes use. Excuse me? Yeah you heard that right. Bug seasoning is something they supposedly sometime use?. Either way it’s absolutely gross and that fake excuse is what really put the nail in the coffin for me. Unless you want roaches in your food, I wouldn’t...
